Worthwhile day trip from Guanacaste!
Our guide Juan and driver Edwin made the day. Juan shared so much information about the country, the area, the animals — he was an absolute joy. The river tubing was beautiful - we saw blue butterflies and special birds. We saw several sloths! Most sleeping high up but our guide had a very good telescope. And it was nice to be in the rainforest. Many, many thanks to Juan and Edwin.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! 🌿😊 We’re so happy to hear that Juan and Edwin made your day memorable with their knowledge and warm service. Spotting sloths, blue butterflies, and the beauty of the rainforest sounds like a perfect Costa Rican adventure! 🦥🦋🌳 We hope to welcome you back soon for more unforgettable moments in nature. Pura Vida! 🇨🇷

Amazing tour guide and tour of Rio Celeste, lunch and farm
Bryan was our tour guide on an excursion to the Rio Celeste waterfall, an authentic lunch and demonstrations of coffee, sugar cane and chocolate production. The waterfall was stunning. Bryan told us it would be 250 or so stairs and it was. This allowed great spots for pictures. The lunch was delicious and the demonstrations were amazing. We also saw a sloth. Because it was so high, hidden in a tree, Bryan helped us all see it and get pictures with some type of telescopic lens. We highly recommend this tour. Bryan was very knowledgeable, fun and made it an awesome experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you, Nikki! We’re delighted to hear that you had an amazing experience at Rio Celeste with Bryan as your guide. His passion and expertise truly make a difference, and we’re glad he helped create unforgettable moments for you—from the breathtaking waterfall to the hands-on demonstrations and wildlife spotting. Thank you for choosing Costa Rica for your adventure and for trusting our services. We hope to welcome you again for more incredible experiences! Pura vida!

Fantastic experience with a great guide!!!
Today (Jan 28) we did the rio Celeste waterfall hike and coffee, chocolate, sugar cane, and pineapple tour with Bryon with a Y! He was incredible, one of the best tour guides I have ever had. He was so knowledgeable and very personable. He was fantastic and I would do any tour with him again, he definitely made the experience all the better! The driver Lydia also made us feel very safe and comfortable in the ride to and from our resort. All around 10/10 would recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear you had an amazing experience with Bryon and Lydia. Your recommendation means a lot, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure soon. Pura Vida!

Pablo and Sensoria are the best!
Our time at Sensoria was amazing to say the least! We came have as an excursion on our honeymoon, and we couldn't asked for a better experience. Our guide, Pablo, was kind and engaged from the time of pick-up at the resort. He took the time to explain his knowledge about Costa Rica and the rainforest throughout our entire journey together. He also supported us in making sure that we capture all of our special moments! Out of all of our excursions, Sensoria was by far the best - guaranteed! We are both very thankful to have had the opportunity to come to such a both very magical place, with such an amazing guide! We recommend Pablo and Sensoria to anyone and everyone!

How much does Rio Celeste: Hike, Coffee & Sloths Lovers cost?

How long does Rio Celeste: Hike, Coffee & Sloths Lovers take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa Flamingo is not rushed.
Is Rio Celeste: Hike, Coffee & Sloths Lovers worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa Flamingo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rio Celeste: Hike, Coffee & Sloths Lovers?
+

Is Rio Celeste: Hike, Coffee & Sloths Lovers suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book Rio Celeste: Hike, Coffee & Sloths Lovers?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa Flamingo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa Flamingo and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rio Celeste: Hike, Coffee & Sloths Lovers start and how do I get there?
+

What are the best things to do in Playa Flamingo?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa Flamingo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Flamingo, Guanacaste All Inclusive Catamaran Snorkel Adventure, Adventure Pass, Playa Flamingo Catamaran Tour with Snorkel, Lunch, Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa Flamingo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa Flamingo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
