    Safari North side Rhodes

Very nice safari with 4 × 4 seen a lot also from the past and the real life of the island. Have been to places where most people can not go, have eaten with the local people of Rhodes their food was top! Wash the North Side Safari

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted you enjoyed discovering the authentic side of Rhodes, visiting places off the beaten path, and experiencing the island through its history, landscapes, and local hospitality. Trip to Rhodes.

We enjoyed the south tour on Rhodes so much last year (Oct 2024),we decided to go for the north tour again on Rhodes.. Some places we'd already visited on coach trips but it was good to have a bit more time, plus to have the insight of having a driver/guide with us. Much more interesting. We liked the guide last year, Demitris and who should be there waiting for us at our hotel, but the man himself . What a treat. He's very knowledgeable, funny and always happy, excellent driver, chatty, doesn't rush you, very attentive. So we are already planning another trip for next October and will be doing the south Rhodes tour again and possibly private tours ,with the same driver..

Response from the operator: Dear Sue, thank you for your feedback. We’re glad that our team provided you with a memorable day out in Rhodes. We look forward to hosting you again on one of our trips around Greece. Kind regards, Manos Malaxianakis

Absolutely Fantastic Day with a Brilliant Guide

This is now the third jeep safari we have gone on with Encharted Escapes, Rhodes. Last year we did the South and the North of the island trips and enjoyed them both so much that this year we repeated the trip of the South of the island. To be honest, although the trip is a great day, and definitely not to be missed, the highlight of the trip was our guide, Thanassis whose knowledge of the area is absolutely phenomenal and his dedication to the days and to his guests is brilliant. The jeep safaris are always the highlight of our holiday and our favourite day but this year was even better. It was lovely to meet up with Thanassis again and to share his passion and knowledge of the island. What a fantastic trip and a truly fantastic guide. Thank you. We would thoroughly recommend this day to anyone booking a holiday to Rhodes.

Response from the operator: Dear Traveller, we are very happy to welcome you back for third time. We appreciate the positive review and great feedback provided. Thanassis is one of our best guides in Rhodes and always provide exceptional services. We look forward to see you again back in one of our trips in Greece!

A Must Book experience in Rhodes, Greece

The tour was phenomenal from beginning to end. Michael picked us up right in front of the cruise ship, along with all of other ginormous tour buses. His Land Rover stood out of the bunch and made finding him so easy! We checked in to the tour in 2 minutes (if that long). We hopped right in and began our journey. We went through old town and Michael noted many of the history of the town; the businesses that have been there for years, the areas of neighborhood, etc. (just to start). We then began to ascend into the hills. He also shared the history of Rhodes, from Turkish occupation, to Italian take over, and finally back to Greece. Michael is a native of Rhodes, and he absolutely knows all the ins and outs of the city! He took us to so many sites I lost count (I'd say more than the other tour buses was able to), as we were able to travel on dried riverbeds and rough terrains that the buses were not. Since the car only allowed 4 additional seats besides the driver, the passengers were able to enjoy one-on-one questions, conversations. I was able to ask questions about anything, everything. As we reached the pinnacle of the excursion, he took us to a family-owned restaurant. What a great treat! We were so stuffed when we left. The other driver kept on warning us that we might fall asleep on the drive down if we eat (or drink) too much! It was hard not to as everything was so fresh, so perfectly seasoned, and just the perfect ending to our trip. Finally, we were brought back to the ship and once again, Michael dropped us right up at the ship entrance. Seriously, I have not been on many, if any, excursions that went as smoothly, as enjoyable, as informational, as the one I went on with Michael. I would highly recommend, a must do, might even go back to Rhodes again, when it comes to Uncharted Escapes' tour with Michael! Thank you so very much for this experience!

Response from the operator: Dear guest we thank you very much for your feedback and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your tour in Rhodes with Michael and he made your day memorable and unique. We look forward to welcoming you back on another one of our tours in Greece!

Limited variety and interest tour - which needs re-restructuring with better spaced breaks

The tour was a west-east off-road jeep tour of north Rhodes... Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, but difficult to understand. We saw a lot... but most of the tour was just driving through lots of forest, mountains and low level farming areas, with little opportunity to see the things we wanted to see, despite us being the only passengers... We did get to see some archaelogical sites, but little opportunity to stop for breaks... We are very fit early 70's, but our guide seemed intent on completing the tour without any breaks - refreshment, toilet or otherwise - before finishing with what was a lovely meal break, but only after a continuous of-road drive from 0900-1530 with only a break at Elias Profilas that we insisted on... It is an expensive trip which is not good value for what you see of the island in terms of variety. This tour must be better structured in future... There needs to be more breaks, and earlier lunch break with the rest of the tour resumed afterwards...Our guide dictated what we saw so we dont know what other sites of interest - like churches, mosques and other heritage buildings we could and should have seen based on what we said we wanted to see.. 6 hours of just off-road through woods, forest and mountains and nothing else is not what most customers would want...

Response from the operator: Hello dear Rhod, thank you for your feedback but we are very disappointed as your tour survey rating was excellent and with an amazing score on excellent and we can not understand the low rating here.... First of all we want to mention that the tour itinerary you booked through Viator platform clearly mentions that you attend a mountain Safari Tour in East-west Rhodes, the routing and also the points of interest. So mentioning that you didn't went on archaeological sites, chapels and heritage buildings or you didn't saw what you wished for it's a bit weird and conflicting with the tour description that you booked.... Maybe you are confusing our tour with something else and you gave a wrong evaluation??? Just to clarify: 1) You attended a mountain safari, so forests, mountains, off-road routes, dense vegetation, trees (woods as you mention) and historical site in the forest are what you should expect... If you wanted a heritage or archaeological sites tours you could book one and A Rhodes Back-country safari tour... 2) Our tour itinerary is very well structured and planned with photo stops, panoramic view of the island from above stops on specific times and lunch, as the pick up and drop off was... The tour you booked it had a specific time duration, schedule and points of interest. So yes before you book you should have read all these informations and be familiar with what tour you attend... 3) The tour you booked is a semiprivate (up to 5 guests in each vehicle) group participation tour, with escort and lunch included, so the price is representative on group size, level of difficulty to approach these areas, uniqueness of terrain, escorts service and kind of vehicle used. I don't even mention that the specific day you were alone in the car so we speak for a private tour... Additionally a private tour around the island, with escort and lunch included it would definitely not costing 190€... 4) If you couldn't understand your escort why you shouldn't ask him to explain better what he says but on the contrary you mention he was interesting and knowledgable in your questionaire... Again these complaint does not match with your ratings and i also have as a proof of evidence your customer satisfaction survey form of that day... Maybe again you are confused.... Moreover what we can not understand is why you booked a backcountry mountain safari tour if what we offer does not meet your requirements??? We are very happy that you expressed your experience here but also very confused as we have your tour customer satisfaction survey excellent and sad that your review is average due to the cause you booked a tour that was not what you wanted it.... We strongly recommend and advise you next time you want to book a tour to read carefully the itinerary first and then book. Your review is not accurate and insults our services, so please correct it because it may be misleading for other guests. Thank you and we are always at your disposal for any further details.

Rhodes Uncharted South Safari: Mountains, Monasteries, & Flavors: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rhodes.

How much does Rhodes Uncharted South Safari: Mountains, Monasteries, & Flavors cost?

    +

Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rhodes usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rhodes Uncharted South Safari: Mountains, Monasteries, & Flavors take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rhodes is not rushed.

Is Rhodes Uncharted South Safari: Mountains, Monasteries, & Flavors worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rhodes, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rhodes Uncharted South Safari: Mountains, Monasteries, & Flavors?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rhodes Uncharted South Safari: Mountains, Monasteries, & Flavors suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rhodes Uncharted South Safari: Mountains, Monasteries, & Flavors?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rhodes can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rhodes and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rhodes Uncharted South Safari: Mountains, Monasteries, & Flavors start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rhodes within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rhodes?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rhodes experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Makarounas Fishing Boat Trip with swimming stop and BBQ on board, Athens cruise: Agistri, Moni/Metopi, Aegina with lunch & drinks, Rhodes Exclusive Swim Cruise Cocktail Open bar & Gourmet Buffet. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rhodes?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rhodes?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
