4x4 guided tour

Great day out for the family! We booked a guided tour with driver Simon. He arrived on time and we collected others along our way whom had booked a self drive. This was all done very efficiently and he kept us in the loop of timings and collections along the route. Simon was as such a great guide, very knowledgeable about the island giving us so much information along our route. Very friendly and easy to get on with. Taking the time to get know us too which was lovely Both himself and Cecile gave a in-depth overview and safely talk to all of the self drivers before heading off road. They were both very good at ensuring everyone was as together at all times which is a task on these roads. Spectacular views of mountains, exciting bumpy rides through the forests with little drink and toilet stops along the way Stop for lunch in a lovely tavern. Food was delicious. Offering kids option of chicken nuggets and chips also. Ending with a beach stop on the east coast for a dip on a more untouched beach which was beautiful Overall we had a fantastic day out and it was a pleasure to meet Simon and we thank him so much for memorable day out in Rhodes for our family

Rhodes Adventures 4x4 self drive

Having had a day out with this crew before, we were confident that we would have another good day out. We were not disappointed! From receiving personal messages around the pick up time and location, to the guide being bang on time everything started off brilliantly. After a briefing session at Rhodes Adventures hq, we set off in convoy with 7 other vehicles at a relaxed pace and no urgency from the guide driver to try and rush things along. They were patient and courteous all day allowing time for photos and selfies along the way as and when required. Their knowledge and history of the stop off points was just the right level of information, without becoming overloaded or boring. The instructions given on driving in the rougher and wetter areas was excellent, and at no time were we concerned for safety or unnecessary risks being taken. A lunch stop was arranged, and although this was an options l extra cost, €15.00 each for 3 courses was excellent value and the delicious food was cooked freshly to order. At the end of the day, we were delivered safely back to our hotel, and thanked personally by our guide for going out with them. One bonus for us was meeting Stavros again, as he was our driver back in 2018 when we last went out with Rhodes Adventures. Thank you a Stavros and crew, we had a brilliant day out 10/10

Average quality

We were very excited for this amazing day out, however the pictures are very misleading. You do not get to drive an open top 4x4 which we expected. When questioning this, we were informed that they aren’t allowed to rent them anymore. This makes the picture very misleading. We were told all vehicles had air conditioning, however ours was not working. Which with two children aged 10 and 12 wasn’t ideal at all. This meant my wife had to sit in the back to allow the children to have the breeze coming in sitting in the front. This wasn’t ideal at all either. When questioning this we were simply told “sorry, nobody told us”. We were told it would be 80% off road driving, however it was more like 50/50. When we stopped at the ice cream and coffee place, we were overcharged compared to the family next to us who ordered more, yet we paid double what they did. The restaurant stop was ok, food was average. Staff there friendly but someone else with us another family got charged 30 euros more than anyone else. The beach was stop was lovely, and the staff at the bar across the road welcoming and polite. Not expensive either. We also feel being a guided tour, we would have had more information about what was going on and what certain places were but other than that pretty much left to just follow. Don’t get us wrong, we had a good day, the tour guides were friendly and views were beautiful. Just feel let down by the quality.

Response from the operator: Hello, Thank you for your review. You are correct, the pictures on viator are old and not updated. I will do that ASAP. The last Suzuki cabrio cars were build in 2007, and are replaced in the last years by the closed ones. Once we know a car has a problem with the airco, we bring it away. But they do break pretty often. We try to keep our cars in good condition, but as you have experienced today, they have a hard life. On the overcharging in the restaurants I can not really comment, not something I recognize. I would just check the bill with the owners if you think that it is not correct? Adventure on Rhodes

The best adventure on Rhodes, beautiful nature, very good organization with Simos and Cecile as the best tour guides that we ever had!! Definitelly worth the money!

Rhodes Safari

This safari tour was an excellent experience. The guides of the tour are great, and adventurous. Nice planned tour, interesting stop places, great lunch. I highly recommend it.
