What you'll see and do
Ancient Kamiros
Our journey starts with Ancient Kamiros which was a city of ancient Rhodes. It's site is on the northwest coast of the island, 3 kilometres west of the modern village of Kalavarda. The ancient city was built on three levels. At the top of the hill was the Acropolis, with the temple complex of Athena and the stoa. The main settlement was on the middle terrace, consisting of a grid of parallel streets and residential blocks. On the lower terrace are found a Doric temple, probably to Apollo, the Fountain House, with the Agora in front of it and Peribolos of the Altars, which contained dedications to various deities. During the prehistoric period the area was inhabited by Mycenaean Greeks. The city itself was founded by the Dorians. (The entrance fee is 6 euros)

On our way to Profitis Ilias we will pass also in front a building that was the Cottage of the Italian dictator Musollini used in the period of around World War II.

Tour of Rhodes and Wine Tasting
Booked this late as our planned similar tour operator trip was cancelled at the last minute. Very comprehensive tour which took us far outside our base in Rhodes Town. Kameiros was a treat. The Pompei of Rhodes. We enjoyed this more than Lindos Acropolis and the guide gave excellent background and historical information. The castle at Kritinia is worth the steps up for the views and lunch in Embonas was tasty and good value. All stops were timed about right with enough time to see things with the guide and in our own time. Coach was comfortable and pick up and drop off from outside our hotel was great.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much ,we appreciate it .

Excellent tourguide and bus driver
Mixed feelings about this tour. The tour guide was excellent—very knowledgeable and engaging. I especially enjoyed her stories about everyday life in ancient Kamiros and would have loved to spend more time there. Unfortunately, the visit felt rushed, and we had very little time to explore. The traditional Greek lunch in Embona was the highlight of the trip. The food was delicious, and the wine tasting afterward was also very enjoyable. On the downside, most stops felt quite rushed, with little or no free time to look around. Some locations, such as Kritinia Castle, were not particularly impressive, and reaching them requires walking uphill, which may be challenging for less mobile visitors. By the end, the tour felt a bit too focused on places where extra spending was encouraged. Overall, great guide and excellent lunch, but I would have preferred more time at the main sights and a less rushed schedule.
Response from the operator: The tour is very well orginised ,in each stop we stay a certain time because then we will be out of the times and we will finish very late ,all these are written in our site, in the stops we dont force the people to visit a particular shop or restaurant ,they are free to choose .Next time you could make it in private. Thank you

Exceptional Tours, Outstanding Guide & True Rhodian Hospitality! ★★★★★
As an experienced traveler who has visited many countries and joined numerous organized tours over the years, I can honestly say that our experience with Kariba Travel was outstanding from beginning to end. We booked two excursions with them during our stay in Rhodes: the Symi & Panormitis excursion and the Guided Ancient Kamiros – Kritinia Castle – Embona – Mount Profitis Ilias – Kallithea Springs tour. Both were exceptionally well organized, punctual, and professionally managed. From the very first communication until the end of our excursions, everything went smoothly and exactly as promised. The online booking and payment process was simple, secure, and straightforward, while the customer support team was always responsive, professional, and genuinely willing to help before we even made our reservation. This level of service is becoming increasingly rare, especially during the peak tourist season when companies are extremely busy. Yet the team at Kariba Travel always found time to answer questions, provide guidance, and make us feel valued as customers. Their willingness to communicate and assist, even during such a busy period, was truly appreciated. A special thank you goes to our guide, Mrs. Elena. Her knowledge of the history, culture, traditions, and heritage of Rhodes was truly impressive. What made her stand out even more was the genuine passion and love she has for sharing knowledge. Every explanation was engaging, informative, and delivered with warmth, enthusiasm, and respect for the visitors. It was clear that she genuinely loves what she does, and that made a huge difference to our experience. The way Mrs. Elena managed the tour in multiple languages was truly exceptional. Her ability to switch effortlessly between languages while maintaining the same level of enthusiasm, clarity, accuracy, and attention to every guest was remarkable. She is a shining example of what a true tourism professional should be: knowledgeable, organized, patient, approachable, and deeply respectful towards visitors. Her professionalism, passion, and dedication greatly enriched our experience and deserve the highest praise. We would also like to thank our driver, Mr. Giorgos, who was a true professional throughout both excursions. Friendly, courteous, calm, and always helpful, he made us feel safe and comfortable at all times. His professionalism and excellent attitude deserve special recognition. The coach itself was excellent—modern, spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. Every aspect of the journey reflected care, professionalism, and attention to detail. What impressed us most was that we never felt like tourists being treated as a source of revenue, but rather as welcomed guests whose experience genuinely mattered. At no point did we feel pressured, rushed, or taken advantage of simply because we were visitors. In an industry where trust is everything, Kariba Travel has earned ours completely. They know how to respect, appreciate, and care for their guests. It is refreshing to find a company that combines professionalism, honesty, excellent organization, and genuine hospitality in such a natural way. What impressed us most was the feeling that we were not simply customers, but welcomed guests. The combination of excellent organization, fascinating destinations, knowledgeable guiding, safe transportation, and genuine hospitality created memories that we will cherish for a long time. Five stars are simply not enough. For us, this was a 10/10 experience. A huge congratulations to the entire team for setting such a high standard. Thank you, Kariba Travel, thank you Mrs. Elena, and thank you Mr. Giorgos for helping us discover Rhodes with such professionalism, kindness, and love for your beautiful island. We will happily recommend your company to friends, family, and fellow travelers. ★★★★★ Highly recommended. 10/10.

It was unfortunate that...
It was unfortunate that the weather was a bit grim, but the tour went ahead anyway. There were some things that we couldn’t see due to this, but guide & driver handled the day very well. Great to see the sights we did & lunchtime taverna visit was amazing. Felt overall like we spent more time on the coach than off today, but feel this was probably due to the rain! Guide super informative & helpful, driver very safe:) Definitely recommend this tour if you don’t have the use of a car on the island.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much ,we appreciate it.

How much does Rhodes:Kamiros,Kritinia,Embona,Mt Profitis Ilias & Kallithea tour cost?

Is Rhodes:Kamiros,Kritinia,Embona,Mt Profitis Ilias & Kallithea tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 35 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Rhodes, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rhodes and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rhodes?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rhodes?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
