    About this experience

We offer convenient airport pick-up and hotel drop-off, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. Alternatively, we can pick you up from your hotel and drop you off at the airport at the end of the tour. This private tour begins on a unique note, visiting the Bridge Between Continents, where the North-American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Iceland is the only place in the world where this continental divide is so visible. Next, we’ll head to the boiling mud pools of Gunnuhver, a site of otherworldly natural beauty. Nearby, you’ll get an up-close look at Iceland’s oldest lighthouse as we hike along the magnificent cliffs, experiencing the full power of the ocean. We’ll also visit the newly formed lava fields from the recent volcanic eruptions in Geldingardalur, providing a rare opportunity to see steamy new lava. This tour is a favorite among guides and travelers, perfect for those who want a personalized experience with a local guide from the airport.

    A Beautiful Send Off!

A wonderful way to spend your last few hours in a beautiful country. If you have a late flight home and do not want to spend your day sitting in an airport this is a MUST for you. Picked up in a beautiful spacious car and then see the beautiful diversified landscape of this country. Our guide Ioannis was so knowledgeable and fun to be with, he even offered extra places for us to see but sadly time was not on our side. Then dropped off at the doors of the airport, what could be better? Don't be hesitant to book this directly, the customer service by the owner Bjarni was excellent. His responses to emails and questions were professional and quick. So happy to not have missed this chance for our last few hours in Iceland!

Superb tour, not to be missed

Superb idea to combine a tour of a beautiful, unvisited and unpopulated area of Iceland along with getting delivered to the airport (or as in our case, our hotel). Very prompt, very courteous, very clean and new car Explanations as to where we were going and what we were seeing. History of Iceland, its culture and its fascinating geology. Answered our own questions raised also. This is a must, I would do this again very easily.

Unreliable operator, cancelled with insufficient notice and made no effort to rectify an airport transfer. stranding us.

What experience, operator cancelled with little notice, no follow up, we're in a foreign country with limited email access and nothing shows up on the app. We're waiting for our ride, which is not just a tour but a transfer to the airport, operator is not responding to messages, finally got hold of Viator that told us it was cancelled and could not get hold of the tour operator (gave us their number and they would not answer during business hours). We were stranded in a foreign country with no one available last minute, and they expected us to take care of it. We had specifically arranged a layover in Iceland to fit in this tour and transfer. Turned out they had "damage to a windshield" the day before so decided to cancel last minute. We never received an alert. They had our number but did not call to make sure we were informed, they could have rented another vehicle to honor their commitment but chose not to, they could have contacted Viator to get us a replacement transfer just to make sure we were not stranded, but no. That was our problem. I have had many tours and when there is an issue they all have reached out and made sure their customer was taken care of. These were just tours, not transports which we rely on to get home. This is utterly unacceptable. When they finally responded, they had the gaul to mock us for relying on them to be the primary reason of our trip. A mistake I, and no one else, should ever make again.

Reykjanes Explorer: Airport Transfer with Sightseeing Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does Reykjanes Explorer: Airport Transfer with Sightseeing Adventure cost?

    +

Prices start at $750 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Reykjanes Explorer: Airport Transfer with Sightseeing Adventure take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is Reykjanes Explorer: Airport Transfer with Sightseeing Adventure worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Reykjanes Explorer: Airport Transfer with Sightseeing Adventure?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Reykjanes Explorer: Airport Transfer with Sightseeing Adventure suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Reykjanes Explorer: Airport Transfer with Sightseeing Adventure?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Reykjanes Explorer: Airport Transfer with Sightseeing Adventure start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
