We will ride through Tpc sugar cane plantation area with its small farms and houses. You’ll cycle past schools, mosques and churches. Your journey takes you to the nearby rice fields, where you’ll make a stop and if you wish can lend a helping hand to the field workers. Afterwards you will have a better understanding how much hard work goes into one sack of rice. Enriched with this intense experience we visit a local family for lunch. Rice is one of the main components of meals in Tanzania and you will have the chance to taste it at their house in a traditional meal called Pilau. Get indulged by the hospitality of the local family while you sit at their veranda and share a meal and thoughts about life with them. All fuelled, you continue the bike ride through the Rau Forest, a natural beauty just behind the city of Moshi. Watch out for colobus monkeys in the tree crowns with their long fluffy tails.

As you cycle through this never-ending jungle, listen carefully to the animal sounds. Our last stop of the day is at the old railway station, remains from the German colonial time. You will feel like you are on 1900s film set and can still sense the bustling energy this magical place used to have roughly hundred years ago. With a little bit of luck, you have the best view on Kilimanjaro while sipping a cold Kilimanjaro beer from the rail station bar, reflecting on today’s incredible adventure. Our guide will take you back to your accommodation, where you can stretch your legs and arms after a day on Tanzania’s rough roads.

Kili Bike Adventures: A Memorable Ride Through Moshi & Rau Forest
Do you love biking and exploring new places? If so, you might want to check out Kili Bike Adventures, a company that offers bike tours in Moshi and Kili. I had a blast riding with them, and I saw so many things that I would have missed otherwise. I recommend them to anyone who wants to have a fun and adventurous day in Moshi. Roy, the owner, was professional and helpful. He arranged a bike ride that suited me and my transportation. He gave me all the details and made me feel comfortable and excited. George, my guide, was friendly and informative. He explained everything along the way, took hundreds of pictures, and showed me some of the local delicacies and fruits. The bike ride was amazing and rewarding. I rode through sugarcane plantations, rice fields, forests, villages, wildlife (Colobus monkeys, Blue monkeys, birds), and culture. I learned a lot and I enjoyed every moment. Roy and George were great hosts and gave me a t-shirt as a souvenir. I am grateful and I want to ride with them again.
Response from the operator: Hello Saivendra, Thank you for your kind review. It was a pleasure meeting you and providing you with a memorable cycling experience around Rau Forest and the Moshi Countryside. We would be delighted to welcome you back for another bike tour with us, and we look forward to seeing you again next time. Best regards Roy and Kili Bike Adventures team

Rau Forest Bike tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moshi.
How much does Rau Forest Bike tour cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moshi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rau Forest Bike tour take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moshi is not rushed.
Is Rau Forest Bike tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moshi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rau Forest Bike tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Rau Forest Bike tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rau Forest Bike tour?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rau Forest Bike tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moshi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Moshi?
+
On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation Half Day Tour, Kilimanjaro climb, Machame Route (7-day). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Moshi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Moshi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Rau Forest Bike tour?
+
Included: Private transportation; Tour guide; Bottled water; Lunch; and Mouantain bikes and Helmets. Not included: Gratuities; and Airport Transfers. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Rau Forest Bike tour include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 2 listed pickup locations in and around Moshi. Be ready about 30 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Rau Forest Bike tour offered in?
+
It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Rau Forest Bike tour?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
What happens to Rau Forest Bike tour if the weather is bad?
+
This experience depends on good weather. If it is canceled because of poor weather, you are offered a different date or a full refund.
