    A fun if uncomfortable experiance.

The Raki tasting, overall, we feel didn't deliver on what was promised in the description. We were the only group on the raki tasting, and it was difficult to meet the guide who had the wrong name for our booking and had no identifying features to let us know they were our guide. We kinda just had to go on trust. We were then taken for a short walk and a tour of the city, which we didn't really need. And the experience would have probably been better if we had just met at the bar. At the bar, we were expecting information on Raki, how it is made, and its history, but we had to prompt this information from the guide, and what was given seemed rather surface-level, with the exact flavourings of each serving not being known, and we had to guess. The guide we expected to flutter to the table to give us information, then leave us alone, and it felt a little uncomfortable having them join us on our table for the full thing. It took a while to warm up to her, and after that, we were fine with it, but it was a shock for them to be so involved and give us as much attention as she did. Overall, it felt a little poorly put together, but we got 8 shots instead of he advertised 6, and the alcohol definitely helped us enjoy the night. We enjoyed our experience, but we would have had a very similar experience if we had gone to a bar and just drunk a lot. Not with the money we spent.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We truly value constructive feedback as it helps us constantly improve. That said, we do want to clarify a few points, as your review seems to reflect a number of misunderstandings. Firstly, regarding the meeting with your guide: our Raki Tasting is not a day trip or large group tour, but a curated, intimate local experience. We intentionally do not use branded signs for this experience, as we aim to keep it personal, friendly, and casual like meeting a local friend for a drink, not joining a bus tour. Your guide contacted you via WhatsApp in advance, as always, sharing the exact meeting point and details. The confusion regarding the name came from the fact that the booking was made under a different name something outside of our control, but we still managed to accommodate it smoothly. As for the tour itself: You were guided through a short, charming walk with cultural highlights of Tirana, which is clearly mentioned in the description. If that portion wasn’t of interest, we would have gladly skipped ahead if requested our tours are flexible and led by guest preference. Once at the bar, you received 8 raki glasses instead of the 7 mentioned, including exclusive raki varieties that cannot be found elsewhere, served with light bites, a sommelier’s explanations, and your personal guide, all for €45. Just ordering those drinks alone in a regular venue( if you could find some tastes) would cost over €35 without any context, hosting, food tasting or storytelling. Your guide, Viola, is one of our most beloved team members, consistently praised for her warmth, local knowledge and hospitality. It’s unusual to hear that her attentive approach was considered too much in fact, most guests appreciate the personal connection and storytelling. You mention you felt you “could have just gone to a bar” but that’s not what this experience is about. It’s about tasting rare Albanian spirits, understanding their origins, cultural value and production all in an authentic, guided setting and everything promised in the description was delivered, and more. Frankly, your review reads as though you were looking for reasons to complain, despite receiving a richer experience than advertised. You're also the first guest not to enjoy this tour, which has received only glowing feedback until now. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, we believe a 2-star review is not only unfair to the team involved — including Viola(Guide), Klajdi(Raki expert) and our chef that prepared the tasting but misrepresents the true value and care put into this experience. We’ll be flagging this review for internal evaluation, as we strongly stand by the quality of what was provided. That said, we do hope your future travels bring you experiences more in line with your personal style perhaps something like a pub crawl, as you suggested. All the best, Donald

    Fun evening sampling raki

Fun evening tasting raki in cool bar. There were seven raki samples offered with a small plate of mezze. Really enjoyed talking with our guide Evis and learning more about Albania and raki.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the nice review and comment Eliza, we are always glad to hear our guest had a good time during the experience!

    Great fun! Raki & more.

We had a great time with Serena who gave us an informative walking tour through Tirana as we traveled from the meeting spot to the bar and restaurant that was providing the tasting. The Raki pours were more than generous and the bar also has an ethnographic museum attached. Serena was able to share insights about the objects included there as well. We highly recommend that you take part in this experience while in Tirana!

Response from the operator: I am glad you liked it Kath , cheers :)

Raki Tasting and Meze Pairing in Tirana: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tirana.

How much does Raki Tasting and Meze Pairing in Tirana cost?

    +

Prices start at $53 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tirana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Raki Tasting and Meze Pairing in Tirana take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tirana is not rushed.

Is Raki Tasting and Meze Pairing in Tirana worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tirana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Raki Tasting and Meze Pairing in Tirana?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Raki Tasting and Meze Pairing in Tirana suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Raki Tasting and Meze Pairing in Tirana?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tirana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tirana and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Raki Tasting and Meze Pairing in Tirana start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tirana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tirana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tirana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Tirana- Hiking Tour to Bovilla Lake & Gamti Mountain, From Tirana / Durres: Gamti Mountain and Bovilla lake Day Trip, Kruja castle, the old Bazaar & Sarisalltik- Departure from Tirana. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tirana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tirana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
