Rainbow mountain with Javier
We chose a private Rainbow Mountain tour because we wanted to arrive before the big crowds and because my girlfriend was a bit concerned about the altitude. Looking back, it was the best decision, especially thanks to our guide, Javier. From the very first moment, his warm and friendly personality made us feel completely comfortable. Throughout the entire tour, we had so much fun together, and at the same time he shared fascinating stories and insights about the Incas and the region. You could truly feel how passionate he is about his job and about making sure his guests have an unforgettable experience. The organization was also excellent: great communication before and perfectly punctual pickup. We can highly recommend both the company and especially Javier. Thank you for such an unforgettable day!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful words for your Rainbow Mountain experience! We are truly happy to hear that the private service helped you enjoy the mountain before the crowds and made the experience more comfortable with the altitude. It means a lot to know that Javier made such a positive impact on your journey. His passion for sharing the history, culture, and beauty of our region is something we are very proud of, and we will make sure to share your kind comments with him. We also appreciate your recognition of our organization, communication, and punctuality. Our goal is always to create unforgettable experiences for every traveler visiting Peru. Thank you again for your trust and recommendation. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future!

Serious, reliable company with expert guides
We made the excursion to the colorful mountain by quad bike. Very fun and with spectacular views! It guides you a charm and very pending the state of health of your group as the mountain is located at 5000 meters above sea level, but worth visiting!
Response from the operator: Nos preocupamos mucho en capacitar a nuestro personal , guias, conductores , porters , etc , para asi puedan llevarse una linda experiencia de Peru, gracias por vuestra recomendacion !!!

Terrible guide and service
The journey is quite long to get to the place, the guide who was assigned to accompany us said almost nothing until we arrived, there were 4 of us and 1 was very ill, when he saw it, he didn't question it and didn't even ask if he needed help At no time did they not take oxygen, the support provided was very poor, a super expensive and dangerous trip, there is no information or guidance on each person's health conditions. Bad experience with this agency and the guide, I don't recommend it.
Response from the operator: Estimados amigos ante todo un cordial saludo, esperando se encuentren muy bien, en principío vuestro servicio era en compartido o grupal , pero le organizamos en servicio privado , al finalizar del tour nuestro guia y conductor nos dejaron el reporte que todo el servicio se dio con toda normalidad retornaron satisfecho, a ello adjuntaron fotos que los vemos felices al inicio y en el mirador de la montaña de colores , ahora nos quedamos sorprendidos con su reporte de mal servicio en especial de nuestro guia sabiendo que es el mejor guia de nuestro staff, nosotros tomamos muy enserio los resportes, hablaremos seriamente con el guia y de parte del representante legal de la agencia perdirle las disculpas y nos apena mucho, estaremos en contacto.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rainbow Mountain - Vinicunca Full Day: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Rainbow Mountain - Vinicunca Full Day cost?
+
Prices start at $98 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rainbow Mountain - Vinicunca Full Day take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Rainbow Mountain - Vinicunca Full Day worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rainbow Mountain - Vinicunca Full Day?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Rainbow Mountain - Vinicunca Full Day suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rainbow Mountain - Vinicunca Full Day?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rainbow Mountain - Vinicunca Full Day start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
