    Comfortable ferry easy...

Comfortable ferry easy crossing. Had to get on longtail boat to get on the ferry. Loads of help with suitcases etc.

    Organised and safe

Took this ferry and due to tide being out you need to get on a longtail boat and then climb aboard the ferry in deeper water. All done easily and safely. Comfortable journey in air conditioning with clean toilets.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent trip to Lanta. We're so glad to hear that you had a wonderful time and that you enjoyed our service.

    went smoothly

We booked the ferry online through the Aonang travel website. I received the email confirmation a few hours after. It is probably not necessary to book online but I liked the idea of getting things booked and paid for while at home. We met a the Railay beach meeting spot and where checked in by the Aonang staff with no problems. From there we were shuttled out to the ferry by longtail boats, then the two hour ride to Lanta. Sitting outside in the breeze seemed to be more comfortable than the "air conditioned" inside seating. There were a fair amount of people on the boat, but I couldn't really comment on overcrowding. Overall a fairly smooth process that went as expected.

    Seemed like a scam

We waited for an hour in the designated location. We eventually walked up the beach and started asking around and were told that we were supposed to meet somewhere else and the ferry had left without us. Coincidentally there was someone there offering to take us by boat and taxi for over twice as much as we paid for this ferry. Seemed like it was all set up. Then viator refused to give me a refund for a trip I never took.

    Better than it looks

Was a fast simple service. We were a bit worried about transferring onto the ferry from a long tail boat with our bags and two young children but it was quick and easy with staff to help. Inside was air-conditioned.

Railay Beach to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krabi.

How much does Railay Beach to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry cost?

    +

Prices start at $633 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krabi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Railay Beach to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krabi is not rushed.

Is Railay Beach to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 43 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krabi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Railay Beach to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Railay Beach to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Railay Beach to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krabi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krabi and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Railay Beach to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krabi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Krabi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Krabi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Phi Phi Islands Tour with Lunch from Krabi, Phi Phi Early Bird & 4 Islands - Day Tour by Speedboat From Krabi, Railay and 4-Island Sunset Speedboat Cruise with Night Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Krabi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Krabi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
