We paid to snorkel but didn’t get to snorkel at all.

Basically we paid to snorkel and didn’t get to snorkel. That’s my only complaint. Everyone was nice but the whole purpose of the trip was to snorkel. We went out into the ocean, they told us that we would spend half the time at the snorkeling location which would be around 20 feet deep and the other half in an area that was only 4 feet deep to swim and enjoy the water I guess. When I say we only spent 10 mins in the snorkeling area, I’m not joking. I was there with my wife and children, so by the time we all got in the water and swam to an open area, they said “there’s not even any fish here. Let’s go to another spot”. We all thought they were just taking us to another area but when I got back on the boat they took everybody’s equipment. It was very disappointing. And none of them were even in the water with us. How would they know if there were fish there or not? They took us to another area that was only 4 feet deep and there were other boats there with people trying to sell us food, hats and things. It was very disappointing. Everybody was very nice but they didn’t give us what we paid for. If we wanted to swim in the beach in shallow water we could’ve just stayed on the shore. And the area was really rocky so it was very hard to stand. They took our swim shoes so it was very painful to be out there. Some of them just got the life vests so we could be in the water without being in pain for the next 2 hrs or so. Would not recommend.

Response from the operator: Dear Maurice_E, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We sincerely apologize that the snorkeling part of your trip did not meet your expectations. We fully understand how important this experience was for you and your family. Regarding the snorkeling locations, our team always aims to select spots with good visibility and marine life. On the day of your excursion, conditions at the first snorkeling site made it difficult to spot fish, which is why the captain decided to move to a shallower natural pool area. We would like to inform you that the natural pool where vendors were present is a public area that we do not control. Unfortunately, vendors sometimes approach all boats there, and we have limited ability to regulate this. We are sorry this interfered with your enjoyment. We appreciate your comments about equipment handling and the rocky conditions, and we will review these points carefully to improve future experiences. Thank you for acknowledging the friendliness of our crew. We truly hope to welcome you again and provide a snorkeling adventure that fully meets your expectations. Best regards, Rose

    Not family oriented.

I don’t think this trip was family friendly. Where we snorkeled was extremely rough and we were only allowed between the anchored boats. Obnoxious loud music. Doritos and four pieces of fruit was our snack. No bottled water. A lot of the other boats that traveled with us were raunchy bachelorette parties. And I thought a catamaran had a mesh area over the water so this wasn’t a catamaran. A trip not for families.

Response from the operator: Dear Tammy ,Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize that this tour did not meet your family’s expectations and that you experienced these inconveniences. We take your comments regarding the atmosphere and the snorkeling conditions very seriously, as we always want our guests to feel safe and comfortable. Regarding your note about the water, we would like to clarify that while our tour description does not include bottled water, but the water provided on board is completely safe, clean, and filtered for consumption. We genuinely appreciate your feedback about the snacks and the catamaran style, as it helps us review and improve our services. We hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to provide you with a much better experience. Warm regards, Hello Catamarans Teams

    Great boat crew!

We had a blast. Boat crew was amazing. They were friendly, fun, and wildly entertaining. The first stop, the snorkel stop, was our favorite. For our group this could have been the full adventure. The water depth was great and the water was clear. The kids got to jump off the boat and into the water after snorkeling. The second spot was waist deep water for hanging out. The water was murky and this wasn’t our favorite. There were vendors in the water and the area was crowded with a lot of boats and competing music. We would have preferred more snorkeling.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Katherine, for sharing your wonderful experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed the crew and especially loved the first snorkeling stop — it’s great that the kids had fun jumping off the boat! We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the second stop and understand your preference for more snorkeling in clearer water. We’re always looking for ways to improve and your insights help us provide an even better adventure for future guests. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable cruise soon! Warm regards, Rose

Great tour for family with kids

It was an amazing experience! We went with our 2 small kids and it was perfect for the whole family. I was a bit worried about other reviews saying it wasn't fit for kids but we felt it was the right tour to choose. We had plenty of time to snorkel and then to swim in the natural pool, we didn't feel rushed at all. The staff was really friendly, great energy and helpful. We can't wait to see the pictures from the photographer. Organization wise, it was impecable. We booked this the night before the day of the trip and 8am we had a message with pick up time. Our driver was amazing and got us there in perfect timing, we didn't have to wait at all. When we got off the boat he was there waiting for us. The one thing i wish we had was the slide on the boat, but in any case, Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Dear 418malenae, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience! We’re thrilled to hear that the Punta Cana Family Catamaran Cruise was perfect for you and your little ones. We appreciate your kind words about our staff and the seamless organization — and we’re excited that you enjoyed the snorkeling and natural pool without feeling rushed. We’re also glad your driver provided excellent service and punctuality, making everything hassle-free. We hear you about the slide and will keep that in mind for future improvements! Thank you for highly recommending us — we hope to welcome you and your family again soon! Warm regards, Rose

Punta Cana Family Catamaran Cruise with Snorkeling Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Punta Cana Family Catamaran Cruise with Snorkeling Adventure cost?

    +

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Punta Cana Family Catamaran Cruise with Snorkeling Adventure take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Punta Cana Family Catamaran Cruise with Snorkeling Adventure worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 159 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Punta Cana Family Catamaran Cruise with Snorkeling Adventure?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Punta Cana Family Catamaran Cruise with Snorkeling Adventure suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Punta Cana Family Catamaran Cruise with Snorkeling Adventure?

    +

Around 56 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Punta Cana Family Catamaran Cruise with Snorkeling Adventure start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Off Road Buggy Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
