Top Notch instruction - convenient and affordable!

Leo and Dan were very professional but also relaxed and super fun - they had all four kids standing on their first try as well as the adults! They worked incredibly hard whisking kids back out into the waves and each kid caught at least 15-20 waves! They will pick you up from the hotel and drop you off, are on-time and on top of communication. You can pay by credit card as well. They have an array of surfboards to use, from the standard soft top long boards for learning, to fish boards, mid-length and short boards if you have more experience. I tried for a second session on another day with Ruben, (I am low intermediate). He picked me up at 6am, and had a quiver of boards to source from depending on conditions. Sadly the ocean was a pancake so we went for a good coffee and sandwich instead. I wasn’t charged, although chose to give some cash for gas and a tip for his efforts and lots of good conversation. Can’t recommend these guys enough!! You are in safe hands and will be standing up on your board, guaranteed!!

    Amazing Service - 5 star

Ruben was amazingly attentive and worked hard to make sure we had everything. My wife came and sat on the beach and he took care of her as much as me surfing. Leo in the office - was so quick and easy to communicate with/ change plans as needed and provide the best service .so nice to have a guide to take us from PV out to the surf spots.

    Excellent surf experience in PV!

Best surf lesson! Leo had us picked up from our resort, Hyatt Ziva, and met us at the beach. He is an excellent instructor and had us all catching waves in no time. This was my first time surfing at 50 yrs old & I rode a wave all the way to shore. So fun! We had a few different levels of surfers in our group and he was patient & helpful with everyone. I can’t recommend VSCO enough. Book it & have the best day ever!

    Amazing experience!

Cannot recommend enough! Pick up was right on time. Leo was so professional — very knowledgable about everything and could pick out the best spots to get the best waves. The beach itself was absolutely stunning. I was a totally beginner but with pretty much no idea what I was doing but by the end of the lesson I definitely felt like I had made progress! I was so appreciative of his patience as it took me a while to get up on the board. Thank you!

    Leo and Vallarta Surf...

Leo and Vallarta Surf were absolutely fantastic! From the moment he picked us up in his van (right on time - even waited for us as we were a bit late), Leo made the whole experience stress-free and fun. He took the time to get us the perfect board sizes for me and my son, then drove us to a beautiful, uncrowded beginner-friendly spot. On the beach he gave clear, patient instruction (pop-ups, timing, paddle technique), and once we were in the water he stayed right there with us the entire time, pushing us into waves, giving tips, and cheering us on. Within the first 20 minutes both my son and I were standing up and riding waves, something I honestly didn’t think would happen on day one! Leo’s enthusiasm is contagious, he’s super patient (especially with kids), and you can tell he genuinely loves teaching people to surf. Best surf lesson we’ve ever had in Mexico, hands-down. If you’re in Puerto Vallarta and want to learn to surf (or just have an awesome day in the water), book with Vallarta Surf and ask for Leo, you won’t regret it!

Puerto Vallarta premier Surf Lessons VSCO: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.

How much does Puerto Vallarta premier Surf Lessons VSCO cost?

    +

Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Puerto Vallarta premier Surf Lessons VSCO take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.

Is Puerto Vallarta premier Surf Lessons VSCO worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Puerto Vallarta premier Surf Lessons VSCO?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Puerto Vallarta premier Surf Lessons VSCO suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Puerto Vallarta premier Surf Lessons VSCO?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Puerto Vallarta premier Surf Lessons VSCO start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
