Botanical Garden hike is worth it
The Botanical Garden was absolutely beautiful! Edgar our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly! The hike next to the river was gorgeous and we got to stop and swim along the way. The hike is 1.5 miles and moderately difficult with steep inclines and slippery sections so bring good shoes for hiking. I would also recommend bring good bug spray because of the mosquitos. You also get to hang out at the animal sanctuary and eat at the delicious restaurant along the river.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for recommending our Botanical Garden hike. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the riverside trail, and the opportunity to cool off with a swim along the way. We’re especially pleased to know that Edgar helped make your adventure even more memorable with his knowledge and friendly attitude. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with him—they will mean a great deal to our team. We also appreciate you sharing helpful tips for future guests about wearing proper hiking shoes and bringing insect repellent. Recommendations like yours help others prepare and make the most of their outdoor adventure. It’s wonderful to hear that you also enjoyed visiting the animal sanctuary and relaxing with a delicious meal at our riverside restaurant, making for a complete day of nature, adventure, and great food. Thank you for choosing Los Veranos Canopy. We look forward to welcoming you back soon for another unforgettable experience.

Highly recommended
It was a great experience! The botanical gardens were awesome and the wildlife presence such as peacocks was unbelievable. Edgar was an amazing tour guide. He showed us about all the different trees and animals that were unique to the area. He even included interactive experiences such as walking through the river instead of hiking through the trees for a section. Also getting to jump in off cliffs into the water was crazy awesome. The price was super affordable even with a large family. We got picked up on the speedboat at 9 and it was a full day adventure lasting until four. The boat was nearly packed to arrive but we got a private tour with just us and Edgar. The rest of the families went on the zip lines but once we got to the bottom we all got together. The bottom was unique with a petting zoo, it had a baby spider monkey, two baby lemurs,a snake and a toucan you could hold. It was great and I highly recommend it.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed review! We’re truly happy to hear you had such a great experience and enjoyed the Botanical Gardens, the wildlife, and the full adventure throughout the day. It’s wonderful to know that Edgar made the tour so special by sharing information about the local trees and animals, while also creating memorable moments like crossing the river and enjoying a more interactive side of the experience. We also love hearing that the day was such a great fit for your whole family and that you were able to enjoy such a full adventure, from the speedboat ride to the activities at the end of the tour. Thank you for recognizing Edgar’s work and for your recommendation. We hope to welcome you back again very soon for another great adventure at Los Veranos Canopy.

Why this scores 81
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens Hiking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.
How much does Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens Hiking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $102 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens Hiking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.
Is Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens Hiking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 135 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens Hiking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens Hiking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens Hiking Tour?
+
Around 47 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens Hiking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
