About this experience
Private cruise to the Modal Fjord. Experience Fjords and waterfalls, starting outside your hotel in Bergen. Avoid the mass tourism, and enjoy the fjords in your own private boat. We start watching Bergen from the seaside with the backdrop of the mountains. Enjoy a glass of champagne or a cup of coffee while cruising the fjords, where the scenery and atmosphere shifts from city, to pristine fjord landscape and waterfalls. We get to the narrow remote fjords and villages with beautiful waterfalls, all year round. If it`s raining doesn`t matter, it makes the waterfalls more dramatic. We stop at a waterfall cascading down to the fjord. We can dock in the village of Mo, where you can have lunch, and explore the village. Or lunch onboard, enjoyed while cruising. Bring swimsuit if you like, and we stop for a swim near the waterfall, a once in a lifetime experience. Times are flexible. The evening cruise (6PM) will be faster, back around 11. Fantastic Tour
Capt. Sven picked us up near our cruise ship and treated us to a lovely day up to Mo for a delicious lunch! Provided fruit, snacks and drinks for us. Got to see some awesome waterfalls as well as swans and sheep, too! Great way to end our vacation. The yacht was perfectly maintained and spacious for 8 of us. Highly recommend.

Beautiful fjord tour!
Wonderful scenic excursion for our family group of 12 adults and a one year old baby. Perfect full day including a stop at a fabulous cafe in Mo for a delicious late lunch. Captain Svein was very knowledgeable, super accommodating and professional. We saw gorgeous water falls, great granite cliffs, lovely farms with black sheep in the lowlands between the cliffs. We loved every minute.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for the nice feedback Marjorie, it was lovely to have you all onboard this day in the fjords 🥰 Svein

Svend the day with Sven. You won’t be disappointed.
What a fantastic boat and captain. The fjords are gorgeous, of course. We loved the pace and comfort. Sven made it all about our wants, and was certain to make sure we checked all the boxes. Highlights were swimming in a sunny cove, and getting so close to a waterfall as to be sprayed and refreshed by it. Blankets, snacks and refreshments were provided and really contributed to the upscale luxury experience. Sven’s boat is a beautiful Princess 50. It is clean and maintained like new. Remember to bring layers of clothes, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be super warm at times, if it’s a sunny day. Bring your bathing suit as well for that awesome Nordic plunge experience. We are thinking of coming back for an extended multi-day cruise with See The Fjords. Thank you Sven.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for the nice feedback, we had a great day together the fjords. Hoping to see you again soon 🥰 Svein

A breathtaking fjord cruice experience!
We had an absolutely unforgettable experience with See The Fjords private cruise. From the very first moment, everything felt exclusive, seamless, and thoughtfully curated. The boat itself was beautiful and comfortable, adding a true sense of understated luxury to the entire journey. Surrounded by the breathtaking fjords, it felt like stepping into a private world of calm and natural beauty. What truly made the experience exceptional was the attention to detail and the warm, professional service. The captain was both knowledgeable and discreet, sharing fascinating insights about the fjords and local history while also giving us the space to fully relax and take everything in at our own pace. There was a perfect balance between luxury and authenticity — nothing felt overdone, just genuinely high quality and personal. We could simply sit back, enjoy the silence, the scenery, and the feeling of being completely taken care of. We are deeply grateful for this experience. It was not just a boat trip, but a truly special and memorable way to experience the fjords. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a more private, refined, and unforgettable fjord experience!
Response from the operator: Thanks a lot for the nice feedback, this means a lot to us 🥰 Svein

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private yacht Fjord and waterfalls cruise to Modal / Mostraumen: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bergen.
How much does Private yacht Fjord and waterfalls cruise to Modal / Mostraumen cost?
+
Prices start at $3400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bergen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private yacht Fjord and waterfalls cruise to Modal / Mostraumen take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bergen is not rushed.
Is Private yacht Fjord and waterfalls cruise to Modal / Mostraumen worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 55 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bergen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private yacht Fjord and waterfalls cruise to Modal / Mostraumen?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private yacht Fjord and waterfalls cruise to Modal / Mostraumen suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private yacht Fjord and waterfalls cruise to Modal / Mostraumen?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bergen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bergen and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private yacht Fjord and waterfalls cruise to Modal / Mostraumen start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bergen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bergen?
+
On Outty we rank every Bergen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Walking Tour in Bergen of the Past and Present, Guided Tour To Nærøyfjorden, Flåm & Stegastein - incl. 2h cruise, Discover Bergen on Foot and Boat. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bergen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bergen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
