What you'll see and do
The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses
Meet your professional guide and driver in your hotel lobby to kick off your wonderful Xi’an sightseeing tour. Your first stop is the Terracotta Army Museum. Covering an area of 16,300 square meters, the museum consists of three main pits: Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3. As the largest pit, Pit 1 features neat rows of terracotta soldiers in the front and ancient war chariots in the rear. Pit 2 houses over 1,000 terracotta warriors and 90 wooden chariots, serving as the troop’s command center in ancient times. Your guide will elaborate on the profound history and interesting stories behind this world-famous UNESCO heritage site throughout the visit. After the museum tour, recharge yourself with an authentic local lunch at a specialty restaurant. You will get to taste the iconic Biang Biang Noodles and a variety of classic Shaanxi delicacies.

In the afternoon, you will head to Qinling Four Treasures Science Park. It is the top spot near Xi’an to see giant pandas. This is China’s earliest conservation facility of its kind and one of the country’s four major panda breeding bases. It is home to Qizai, the world’s only brown giant panda. Besides pandas, the park boasts the world’s largest groups of crested ibises, golden snub-nosed monkeys and takins. Your guide will introduce these endangered species to you in detail. You can watch the pandas — including the unique rare brown panda — playing and feeding. They look lazy but incredibly adorable. Once the sightseeing wraps up, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

Fantastic experience with the pandas and the terracotta warriors
We had a fabulous time. Our tour guide, Betty, from Xi’an, was amazing. She was super friendly and a wealth of knowledge about the area, the pandas and the terra cotta warriors. The pandas were active and playful. The red pandas were particularly cute. The lunch was a delicious traditional Xi’an meal. The Terracotta Warrior Museum was outstanding. The intricate details of the warriors was incredible. It was neat to learn about the history of the Qin dynasty and how the warriors came to be. I would absolutely recommend this experience especially with Betty as a guide.

What an amazing day with an amazing tour guide
Richard was our tour guide, and he was beyond excellent. He met us at our hotel, explained what was going to happen for the day, and informed us of the estimated time it would take to reach each location. The Terracotta Warriors were absolutely amazing, and they surpassed my personal expectations. We were able to see the 3 Pits and the Museum without issue. The Panda's was a different issue; we got to the orignal location, and unbeknownst to Richard, it was closed. We could tell due to his body language. He was on his phone for about 10 minutes or so. He explained what happened and told us he had another idea. The place was a good distance from where we were, but we got there and saw PANDAS!!!!. He was able to pivot and make something happen. We had lunch, and by pure luck, we met Mr Yang, the farmer who found the Terracotta Warriors, too, and we got a signed book (Pure luck). It was a day that exceeded our expectations.

Extraordinary day in Xi’an
Our guide, Joy, was true to his name. Excellent full day to see bucket list venues including Terra Cotta Army and endangered pandas, ibis, black bears and others. We had a driver to avoid wait times between venues. A local lunch was included and very good. Thank you, Joy.

A must do tour!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Let me start by saying this is an absolute must do tour if you’re short on time. A great way to see both the pandas AND the terracotta warriors! Booked this tour through Viator. It was absolutely incredible! Our tour guide, Rocky, was knowledgeable and knew so much along the way. He was able to answer all of our questions and knew exactly where to take us. I communicated with Jack and Jeff Ning who were also very kind and helpful. The car was nice, and Rocky showed us sights along the way. The lunch was spectacular of a local “stretched noodle” and the guide provided us with bottled water if needed. I wouldn’t have changed anything about the tour it was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever been through. Highly recommend.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Xi’an Day Tour: Qizai the Giant Panda & Terracotta Army: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Xian.
How much does Private Xi’an Day Tour: Qizai the Giant Panda & Terracotta Army cost?
+
Prices start at $254 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Xian usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Xi’an Day Tour: Qizai the Giant Panda & Terracotta Army take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Xian is not rushed.
Is Private Xi’an Day Tour: Qizai the Giant Panda & Terracotta Army worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Xian, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Xi’an Day Tour: Qizai the Giant Panda & Terracotta Army?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Xi’an Day Tour: Qizai the Giant Panda & Terracotta Army suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Xi’an Day Tour: Qizai the Giant Panda & Terracotta Army?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Xian can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Xian and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Xi’an Day Tour: Qizai the Giant Panda & Terracotta Army start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Xian within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Xian?
+
On Outty we rank every Xian experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Xi'an Day Tour: Terracotta Army&Optional City Attractions, All-Inclusive Terracotta Army Tour with Premium Buffet Lunch, 2-Day Customized Warriors Tours & Xian Top Attractions. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Xian?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Xian?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
