Pick Wayne for your Willamette Day!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing Day in the Willamette Valley with Wayne! We had an absolutely incredible day touring the Willamette Valley with Wayne! From the moment he picked up our group of 6 adults at our hotel in Portland, his energy and personality made the entire day so enjoyable. He was incredibly easy to talk to, and his knowledge of the history of the Willamette Valley and Oregon made the drive between wineries just as interesting as the wine tasting itself. Wayne had a clean, comfortable vehicle that was perfect for our group. He took the time to understand our wine preferences and priorities, especially our desire for beautiful, scenic views, and selected three wineries that were a perfect fit for us. He also made all of our winery reservations in advance, making the entire day completely seamless and stress-free. Wayne even provided a delicious picnic lunch that he packed for us and set up at one of the wineries, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everywhere we went, it was clear that Wayne has built wonderful relationships with the wineries—the staff knew him and treated us so well. His knowledge, connections, energy, and attention to detail made for an unforgettable experience. We would absolutely recommend Wayne to anyone visiting the Willamette Valley, and we’re already looking forward to taking another tour with him someday!

    A truly Great tour

We had a wonderful day with Camille and met another couple. We learned a lot about the Willamette wine country and visited 3 terrific vineyards. Beautiful views at all. Picnic lunch was delicious. The owners/ operators of each vineyard were hospitable, knowledgable and fun to talk with. Loved this experience!

Response from the operator: Hey Kleinsa, Thanks for leaving me such a good review. Ya, everyone that day seemed to be having a very nice experience in our little wine region. I also enjoyed my time with all of you. I hope the rest of your summer is great. Sincerely, Camille

    The best Willamette day

What a PERFECT day!!! Wayne was an amazing guide and took us to the perfect wineries for our day. He scheduled everything and was so much fun. The wineries were perfect for us and Wayne really knew the locations and owners. Lunch was also excellent. If you’re going to Willamette we highly recommend!!

Excellent beginning, then a very steep drop off.

We started our tour at Patricia Green Cellars and our experience was so far above expectations. Our vineyard host was knowledgeable; he talked with us the whole time. We started with a rose, then 6 pinots. Once we rated these, he brought us 3 more to taste. We had food, became wine club members and bought wine. There was no charge. We had a very different experience at Solena. A young waiter told us what he poured and then left--no other information was given. They charged $200. We were so very disappointed, we did not want to go to the third winery

Response from the operator: Ya, the experience at Patricia Green cellars is always amazing. Had you not purchased wines or joined the club you would have paid tasting fees there. Tasting fees are not included with our tours. That's why you were charged tasting fees at the 2nd winery. there was no wine purchased. I understand you decided to end the tour early because of that and some of your guests weren't too happy with that decision. I don't know why you would think the 3rd winery would not be enjoyable. Your guide was Wayne, one of the best guides out there. He has no control over what happens in the tasting room but if you shared your disappointment with him and gave him the opportunity to make sure you did have a great experience at the 3rd winery he would have done just that. The negative review should have been posted at the winery sight not our site. That's like giving your UBER driver a bad review because he dropped you off at a restaurant and you weren't happy with the service there.

What a Great Oregon Wine Tour!!

Wayne picked us up at our accommodations and took us to 3 wineries over around 7 hours and provided a great lunch too. Wayne, himself, was a very interesting and entertaining guy. Our visits included meeting an owner of a small winery, and some very experienced and knowledgeable people everywhere. Very little repetition or overlap because each place explained their business and always listened and reacted accordingly with our questions and feedback. Highly, highly recommend A Great Oregon Wine Tour. A fantastic experience!!

Private Wine Tours: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Portland.

How much does Private Wine Tours cost?

    +

Prices start at $700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Portland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Wine Tours take?

    +

Plan for about 9.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Portland is not rushed.

Is Private Wine Tours worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Portland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Wine Tours?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Wine Tours suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Wine Tours?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Portland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Portland and add a light layer if any part of the 9.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Wine Tours start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Portland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Portland?

    +

Portland's activity list is food cart and brewery crawls, Columbia River Gorge waterfall tours to Multnomah Falls, Mount Hood day trips and Willamette Valley pinot tastings. Gorge tours vary in how many falls they reach, so route detail is the deciding factor. On Outty we rank every Portland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Guided Oregon Coast Tour from Portland, Multnomah Falls and Columbia River Gorge Half-Day Hiking Tour, Columbia Gorge Waterfalls and Mt. Hood Tour - Full Day. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Portland?

    +

June to October for the Gorge, with waterfalls at their fullest in spring. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Portland?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
