What you get
About this experience
Around the Douro Valley, the most sought-after panoramic viewpoint in the region is one of the highlights of this tour, with the Douro River always present on the horizon, easily captivating us with the numerous vineyard terraces. Be enchanted by the exquisite lunch we offer, where you can savor typical flavors in the heart of the Douro, whether at a Quinta or at chef Rui Paula's DOC restaurant, which boasts two Michelin stars. One of the highlights of this itinerary is the tasting of the finest olive oils. Due to the rocky terrain of the Douro, not only excellent wines are produced, but the olive oil also has a unique flavor and various health benefits, making it an essential element in the region's gastronomy. And, of course, the best and most delicate wines of the Douro will be part of your day, in a wonderful DOC wine tasting experience.

Wonderful Wine tasting in the Douro Valley.
Tour was first class all the way. The wine tasting was excellent, seeing the sights during the drive did not disappoint, the boat ride very nice, and lunch at a private location was exceptional. The was tasting was at a small and beautiful winery that produces both win and port. OF course, there was an opportunity to purchase wine and have it sent directly home. Lunch was in a large dining room and included tasting appetizers followed by the main course featuring steak cook over an open fireplace or salmon. Luis Lin was our guide and I would encourage your to ask for him. I highly recommend this day with Luis and Douro First Tours.
Response from the operator: Thank you Wes for your feedback! It was a pleasure to have you in one of our tours. Douro First Team

Thank you for giving us one of the best days of our lives!
I am so incredibly glad that our kind Airbnb hosts connected us with Douro First Tours. The team was so helpful in answering all our questions, and all we knew we wanted was a fun sight seeing and wine tasting outing - we got so much more than we could have hoped for! They had the challenge of coming up with a fun outing during the rainy season and while we got lucky with the weather, their planning made the day so incredibly fun that we had to ask if someone had told them more about what we usually liked to do because they had read our minds so well without us having to plan anything! Our tour guides José and Manuel took us to an incredible wine museum, all around the valley (and were incredible drivers on the windy roads that we could certainly not have handled ourselves) and then to a surprise gorgeous and unbelievably delicious lunch with some of the best food we’ve ever had. They even went out of their way to drop us off at dinner instead of the Airbnb because we had so much fun out we lost track of time. They were professional and insightful and completely tailored the day to our group of 11 girls on a bachelorette trip, we couldn’t have dreamed up a better day and they laughed along with us the whole day. Additionally, the winery the planning team suggested (H.O.) was incredible - the views, wine, and tour were spectacular and Cliff who led the tasting was fantastic. All in all, it was one of the best days of our lives - thank you for giving us a memory we’ll have forever!
Response from the operator: Thank you Thalia for your review and great photos! Hope to see you again one day, it was a pleasure to have your group with us. Douro First Team

Relaxing wine tour with Nuno
We (a group of four) took the wine tour with Nuno. The trip included wine tasting, a river boat cruise and a local traditional meal at a vila. The pace was very relaxed and Nuno was very helpful and fun to be with. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it and Nuno as the guide.
Response from the operator: Thank you, DML! We really appreciate your feedback. Hope to see you soon!...

Private Wine Tasting Tour in Douro Valley: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.
How much does Private Wine Tasting Tour in Douro Valley cost?
+
Prices start at $148 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Wine Tasting Tour in Douro Valley take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.
Is Private Wine Tasting Tour in Douro Valley worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Wine Tasting Tour in Douro Valley?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Wine Tasting Tour in Douro Valley suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Wine Tasting Tour in Douro Valley?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Wine Tasting Tour in Douro Valley start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Porto?
+
On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Porto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Porto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
