An excellent wine tour and more!

We enjoyed a truly excellent day with Sean touring the northern Willamette Valley. We requested our first two stops (Argyle for sparkling wine, which we found somewhat disappointing, and Dundee Bistro for lunch and Ponzi wines, both of which were excellent), but asked Sea to Summit to suggest a place for great pinot noirs. Sean took us to White Rose, which was just fantastic. Next time I would definitely let them make all the choices!!! What really made the tour, however, was the fascinating commentary from Sean on topics ranging from a history of the Willamette wine region to mushrooming in Oregon. At the end of the tour, we felt we had a much greater appreciation for many facets of this beautiful part of Oregon, not just their wine. From a logistics perspective, Sean was absolutely impeccable--there was great communication on pick up times/locations and he helped us stay on schedule without being overbearing or intrusive. He even spent some of his waiting time helping us track down a wine I'd really enjoyed but was currently out of stock at the Bistro, and contacted me later with a sparkling wine recommendation. I've been on a few wine tours, and this ranks as one of my very favorites!

    Must do in Portland

We were lucky to have Shahn as our tour guide. My boyfriend and I originally planned to do the wine and waterfalls tour but it wasn't available for our requested date. Shahn was nice enough to offer an alternative trip on the Willamette Valley Wine tour. We spent the entire day driving to 3 different wineries and getting lunch at a very good deli that offered plenty of options. The bar tenders at each stop where very attentive and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the wine scene in Portland and Shahn even suggested some other things to do during our trip including waterfalls, and the beach. I would definitely book another tour through Sea to Summit!

Custom Tour to Willamette Wine Country

We had a group of 18 and were very pleased with the assistance in planning and execution that Sea to Summit Tours provided. Joshua and Sean are both from Portland and were very knowledgeable of the area. We had very specific requirements and they were easy to work with. Also, they own their own fleet of nice vans so the driving is comfortable. I highly recommend Sea to Summit Tours and Adventures. Tim B.

    Outstanding Willamette wine tour

Shawn provided an outstanding day tour - with his local background and Native American heritage plus extensive knowledge of geology, history, viniculture and wine making it made for a very fun and informative day. And a great deli for lunch.

Private Willamette Valley Wine Tour from Portland: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Portland.

How much does Private Willamette Valley Wine Tour from Portland cost?

    +

Prices start at $1275 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Portland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Willamette Valley Wine Tour from Portland take?

    +

Plan for about 0.1 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Portland is not rushed.

Is Private Willamette Valley Wine Tour from Portland worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Portland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Willamette Valley Wine Tour from Portland?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Private Willamette Valley Wine Tour from Portland suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Willamette Valley Wine Tour from Portland?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Portland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Portland and add a light layer if any part of the 0.1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Willamette Valley Wine Tour from Portland start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Portland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Portland?

    +

Portland's activity list is food cart and brewery crawls, Columbia River Gorge waterfall tours to Multnomah Falls, Mount Hood day trips and Willamette Valley pinot tastings. Gorge tours vary in how many falls they reach, so route detail is the deciding factor. On Outty we rank every Portland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Guided Oregon Coast Tour from Portland, Multnomah Falls and Columbia River Gorge Half-Day Hiking Tour, Columbia Gorge Waterfalls and Mt. Hood Tour - Full Day. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Portland?

    +

June to October for the Gorge, with waterfalls at their fullest in spring. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Portland?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
