In this walking tour you will be offered a unique perspective of Gdańsk through different layers of history & development affecting the everyday life of the people living in. Smells, sounds, historical images of the city… You will be projected into all of it. The tour is guided by a local architect and urban planner passionate about the history of the place. #historyandarchitecture #architectandguide I use educational materials to keep you focused and curious about the next steps. You can take your kids and they will like it as well. Thanks to playing cards (optional) they will be involved in the tour. So let yourself be carried away by the historically richest city in the Baltic Sea basin: Gdańsk, known also as Danzig. You will never forget this city. You will talk about Gdańsk to your friends. And so I also hope that you will keep this tour in good memory:)

Our guide will show you the Old Town City Hall which is next to the Radunia Canal and also introduce you to the Teutonic Order.

We will go next to the Great Mill and learn about it's importance and history. We will show you pictures of what this area looked like before the 2nd World War. We strongly advise you to visit the Amber Museum which is in this building although it's not part of the tour. To be discussed, for example you can do it before we start our tour.

St. Catherine's Church (Kosciol Sw. Katarzyny)
This church is still running (as almost all the others are) but also houses the Museum of Turrets Clocks. For those with strong legs as this museum is in the tower: home to centuries-old time-keeping devices, the biggest concert carillon in Poland and the world's first pulsar clock. Not a part of the tour. To be discussed.

The highest of the towers of the medieval fortifications of the Main Town of Gdańsk. Here, leaving the Gdańsk Old Town we start discovering the other city: Main Town and it's magnitude.

Great Armoury (Wielka Zbrojownia)
A unique architectural object if you think about how it looks like and what it's function. Definitely shows the wealth of the city in the renaissance ages. Houses the Academy of Fine Art now. Sometimes opened to the public (during students' exhibitions).

The biggest bricks church in the world. It is the site where you can see a huge astronomical clock from the 15th century. Everyday at noon it chimes.

This area has a lot to offer. In this corner we will find the Artus Court which used to be a meeting place for merchants (today seen as an astonishing museum of history and art). And the Main Town Hall also has interesting interiors.

Visit to Gdansk, Sopot, and Gdynia
We spent a day with Agnielska. Our guide, charming and friendly and speaking very good French, took us on a tour of Gdansk, Sopot, and Gdynia while explaining the history of Poland and the particularities of Gdansk and its region. Her background as an urban architect allowed us to familiarize ourselves with the different architectures throughout time. Furthermore, the focus placed on the Jewish heritage of these three cities, at our request (even if it was less marked than in other cities in Poland), particularly moved us. Thank you Agnes for this beautiful moment, for your kindness, your empathy, and your skills. We highly recommend you.

Great tour guide
I highly recommend it! Agnieszka has a great knowledge of Gdańsk’s history and architecture and was really well prepared. A big plus for all the materials she brought along — historical documents, as well as little extras like smells and illustrations. They really give you a much better picture of the places you’re visiting and make it easier to understand and imagine the history of the city, its buildings and different districts. Agnieszka herself is such a lovely and positive person, and with her you definitely won’t get bored. Once again, I highly recommend her and thank you so much for a fantastic tour around Gdańsk! 😃 And I also have to mention all the great recommendations Agnieszka gave us along the way for places worth visiting afterwards. We spent one day on the tour with her, and then went on to explore a few more sights she recommended, on our own. So if you enjoy sightseeing, it’s definitely worth setting aside the whole day for it!

An excellent tour guide! Ms. Agnieszka spoke about Gdańsk in an interesting and engaging way; she even prepared small jars containing the scents of specific locations—a brilliant touch! The entire tour took place in a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Her vast knowledge, passion, and dedication were evident—I definitely recommend Agnieszka!

I really like to learn about the things I can see as a tourist and she did it!
An excellent guide! She haa knowledge not only about the city's history but also about architecture, coming from someone educated in this field, which I greatly appreciate as a passionate enthusiast. This wasn't a story like "there's a church on the right, an old house on the left." It was a journey through the city, steeped in history and interesting facts, with details about what happened and why so and why here. Plus, what's not so obvious, with illustrations in the form of sketches, photos, and reproductions of both the entire city and selected landmarks along the route. The three hours flew by seamlessly and were incredibly engaging. And this story can be heard not only in Polish or English, which is practically the norm these days, but also in French, which is not so obvious and typical.
