    What you'll see and do

    1. Crane

The Crane is one of the defining symbols of Gdansk and represents what little is left of the city's great trading age. Built in the mid-15th century as part of the biggest double-towered gate on the shoreline, it also served to install and remove ships' masts, and to load and unload heavy cargo from vessels docked at the quay. Incredibly, this human-powered device could hoist loads of up to 2000kg, making it the largest crane in medieval Europe.

    2. SS Soldek

SS Sołdek was a Polish coal and ore freighter.

    3. Gdansk Shipyard

Gdansk Remontowa Shipyard is still a busy, working yard and for those interested to see ships of all sizes in different stages of repair or construction. It is so interesting to paddle and be able to see men working on ferries.

    4. Amazing kayak tour through the river Motlawa around two islands of Gdansk: Granary Island and Olowianka Island. Gdansk is quite uniquely located at the crossroads of sea and river routes, waterways of the Vistula river at the Baltic estuary, as well as the Radunia and Motlawa rivers. This had a significant impact on the city’s development. The daily living as shown in literature and drawings proves that water was the important element of the city’s life. It is important today to show Gdansk through its relation to water.

    5. Motlawa River Embankment (Dlugie Pobrzeze)

Kayak tour gives a different perspective on the historical value of the Main City. Paddling through the canals allows freedom to see places ferries cannot access. We will show you a completely different Gdansk to the one you’ve seen on land.

Great Gdansk holiday memory to keep

The guide was excellent. I felt safe with his guidance on the tour. I hadn't expected to have been paddling on the main river through Gdansk centre. Delighted that I managed the challenge. Would definately book again.

An amazing tour of the city

Michael was an amazing guide! He really was so helpful with making sure we understood how to use the kayak and explaining what we were seeing along the river. The best part was how we experienced the city from a whole different perspective by being on the river. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone that is physically up for it, and Michael was truly one of the best guides I have ever had.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed discovering Gdansk by kayak and that our guide helped make your adventure special. Experiencing the city from the water truly offers a unique perspective. We'd love to have you join another kayak adventure with us in the future.

    Had a great time with...

Had a great time with Michael our guide. Tandem kayak took a few minutes to get used to, but once settled the trip was great. Boat traffic was minimal along the canal and other than one angry swan along the way we enjoyed all the sights.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your kayak adventure with us! It sounds like you had quite an eventful and enjoyable trip exploring Gdansk by kayak. We're thrilled that our guide could enhance your experience. We hope to see you again for more waterway explorations.

Gdańsk old and new, industrial, historic and residential.

What a great way to see Gdańsk! We loved the whole experience. Our guide Nick was excellent- very knowledgeable and looked after us really well. I thought we would just go up Motława and back the same way but it was much more than that. The water covered in duckweed made it even better. I’ve already recommended it to other people. Thank you!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We're thrilled you enjoyed exploring all the diverse aspects of Gdansk by kayak and appreciated the unique details like the duckweed-covered waters. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to host you on more kayak adventures in the future!

Guided Sightseeing Kayak Tour at Gdansk: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Gdansk.

How much does Guided Sightseeing Kayak Tour at Gdansk cost?

    +

Prices start at $39 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Gdansk usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Guided Sightseeing Kayak Tour at Gdansk take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Gdansk is not rushed.

Is Guided Sightseeing Kayak Tour at Gdansk worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 119 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Gdansk, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Guided Sightseeing Kayak Tour at Gdansk?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Guided Sightseeing Kayak Tour at Gdansk suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Guided Sightseeing Kayak Tour at Gdansk?

    +

Around 42 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Gdansk can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Gdansk and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Guided Sightseeing Kayak Tour at Gdansk start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Gdansk within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Gdansk?

    +

On Outty we rank every Gdansk experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gdansk Food and Sightseeing Tour with Bart, Discover Gdansk Walking Tour, Gdańsk: City Sightseeing Tour by Buggy/Golf Cart LIVE GUIDED 1H. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Gdansk?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Gdansk?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
