Definitely go on the Bayeux tour with Discovery Walks
My father, 20-something son, and I went on the Bayeux history walking tour with "Green Hat Lady" Marie-Noëlle as our guide. We were in Bayeux the day prior to going on a full day D-Day tour and took advantage of an early train from Paris in order to meet up for the tour at 3 p.m. It was well worth it. Bayeux has a rich history, spanning more than 1000 years and involving so many familiar names from history -- French, English, and Viking. It was fascinating, we learned and saw many things we definitely would not have on our own. I highly recommend this tour -- and you will want to make a reservation well in advance to be sure you can be on it.
