About this experience
Private Walk & Ferry: Copenhagen Highlights + Change of Guards Finale Experience Copenhagen’s top sights by foot and ferry on a private tour with your local host. This Go Like a Local tour combines highlights, hidden gems, and a 25-minute ferry ride, ending with the iconic Changing of the Guards at the royal palace. All sights are seen from outside. We start with a guided walk through Copenhagen’s scenic streets before boarding the electric harbor ferry. Your host shares stories, history, and insider tips while you enjoy the city from the water. After the ferry, we continue on foot, visiting the star-shaped 17th-century fortress and the Little Mermaid. A cozy café stop offers time to rest and chat before finishing at Amalienborg Palace. The 9:00 AM tour includes the full Changing of the Guards at 12:00. Other times include a smaller version. If the ferry is full or out of service (rare, mostly weekends), we follow a scenic canal route instead — same experience, just 2 extra km.

Incredible tour with Kris, but even better memories
I want to start off by mentioning that Kris was the most incredible tour guide we’ve had across the four continents we’ve traveled so far. My mom has a disability so we booked a walking tour in order to ensure that we weren’t rushed or holding anyone behind. The private tour can obviously be tailored but we allowed Kris to do her thing and we are so happy we did. Yes, we saw everything a tourist should but learned so much more about what Copenhagen has to offer and what life in Denmark is like. We were almost disappointed that we had to say goodbye after the end of our tour because it was incredible. -The private tour cost does vary depending on what you are looking for and the length. - we had a two person group and felt so well taken care of.
Response from the operator: Hola Stepanny! Thank you so much for this wonderful review! It was truly an absolute pleasure to walk with you and mum around my beautiful city of Copenhagen! I'm just so happy that we could together create a tour experience that was both accessible and genuinely enriching, for you yes, but also for me! It was lovely to show you the authentic character of Copenhagen and Danish life, and get to know you and Betty as we strolled through its streets! Your openness to letting the tour unfold naturally made it such a joy for me, honestly! moments like the ones we shared yesterday are what makes this work truly special. I hope you'll return to Copenhagen someday, and please don't hesitate to get in touch if you ever do! Kindest hasta luego to you and mum! Take good care of each other, Kris Go Like a Local

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Walk & Canal Tour: Highlights + Changing of the Guards: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Copenhagen.
How much does Private Walk & Canal Tour: Highlights + Changing of the Guards cost?
+
Prices start at $3500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Copenhagen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Walk & Canal Tour: Highlights + Changing of the Guards take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Copenhagen is not rushed.
Is Private Walk & Canal Tour: Highlights + Changing of the Guards worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 38 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Copenhagen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Walk & Canal Tour: Highlights + Changing of the Guards?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Walk & Canal Tour: Highlights + Changing of the Guards suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Walk & Canal Tour: Highlights + Changing of the Guards?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Copenhagen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Copenhagen and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Walk & Canal Tour: Highlights + Changing of the Guards start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Copenhagen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Copenhagen?
+
On Outty we rank every Copenhagen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Grand Day Trip around Copenhagen, Copenhagen Walking Tour: Politically Incorrect Intro, Copenhagen Highlights 3 Hour Bike Tour with local Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Copenhagen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Copenhagen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
