Disappointed
The tour never happened, due to the weather. Our flight was delayed twice and upon getting to Vienna, our tour guide was already waiting for over an hour. The guide was very nice, but it's sad that nothing could be refunded (or even partially) as the tour was missed due to unforseen circumstances. I hope practices like this are revised and tour operators offer options or some type of insurance for these events. It was my birthday and I had spent a great deal of time, energy and effort looking for the right tour. It was very disappointing to learn nothing could be done. It has left me with considerable doubt in booking these excursions, and will probably only work with a travel agent in the future.
Response from the operator: Dear Tiffinee, Happy belated birthday, and we are sincerely sorry to hear that your first evening in Vienna did not go as planned. We would like to clarify that a full refund has already been processed for you. While flight delays are typically not covered by our cancellation policy – as our local guides are fully committed and paid for their time – the situation on August 20 was further complicated by severe, unexpected rainstorms east of Vienna. We did our best to buffer your initial flight delays by pushing back the tour's start time, but once we assessed the full impact of the weather the following morning, we immediately initiated a full refund. This should already be credited to your account. We deeply regret the rocky start to your trip, but we truly hope the rest of your time in Vienna exceeds your expectations. Warm regards, Walter SCHINDL SCHINDL Local Services

Vienna highlights with humor, knowledge and fun!
I highly recommend this fun tour with Walter! It was a great way to see the highlights of Vienna in just 4 hours! Walter was so funny and extremely knowledgeable about Austrian history! A huge bonus was the perfect photo shots and escaping the tourist crowds! He tailored our tour just for us and made us fall in love with this sophisticated, clean, beautiful city!
Response from the operator: Thank you, Timothy, to pinpointing the idea of our hosting. All in our Austria Guide Team have “seen the world” and therefore are careful with superlatives. BUT, we all love Vienna! We ask our guest for the “EXTRA STEP” but fort that effort, we sometimes present an UNUSUAL ANGLE.

Wonderful evening tour through Vienna's city highlights...
Thanks to Brigitte for the wonderful evening tour with my leadership team during our team meeting... Brigitte brought history to life with her wonderful stories, has broad knowledge about the history of Vienna and was adapting to the needs of the group so we had the best possible experience in a very limited time... We will for sure book again! Thanks, Barbara & All
Response from the operator: Hello Barbara & Team! Thank you so much for your positive and warm hearted feedback, which we appreciate a lot! Good to hear that you and your "Ladies" enjoyed" our evening walk together. I wish you all the best for your future, your business and your business together. It was a real pleasure to show you around, take care!!!

Fantastic Walking Tour of Vienna
This was the highlight of our European vacation! Our guide meet us in the lobby of our hotel at 5:30pm and proceeded to show us all the sights of Vienna in 2.5 hours. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. It was amazing as it was just the 4 of us with our guide! We saw The Franciscan Church (also known as the Church of St. Jerome), Mozart’s Apartment Building (from 1784-1787), St. Stephen’s Cathedral, The Plague Column, St. Peter’s church, Freyung Square, Church of the Minoritenkirche (Italian), The Minoritenplatz, the COVID-19 memorial, the 13th century Hofburg Palace (where many important actions and events took place here, most notably Adolf Hitler's ceremonial announcement of the Austrian Anschluss to Nazi Germany on 15 March 1938), Joseph’s Square, the Vienna Opera House & Heldenplatz (Heroes' Square) and many others. At the end of the tour our guide walked us to a great local restaurant and left us for the evening. Would recommend 110% - fantastic!
Response from the operator: Rachel, we are glad to hear that you liked Hannes and his “Apero-Tour”. We meet our guests at their doorstep and therefore our routs vary – and the possible content depends on our guests’ mobility and interest. Looks like you covered a lot of ground for an “opening evening” in Vienna. Save and happy travels to your family! Walter & Hannes

Great Fun!
We thoroughly enjoyed our walk through Vienna in the evening. Walter tailored the walk to include some sites in the area where we were staying. He knew the history of sites and had a great sense of humor. Walter also provided us with ideas for where to visit on the following day on our own.

Why this scores 49
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Vienna Evening Walk — Orientation for Your First Night: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Private Vienna Evening Walk — Orientation for Your First Night cost?
+
Prices start at $270 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Vienna Evening Walk — Orientation for Your First Night take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Private Vienna Evening Walk — Orientation for Your First Night worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Vienna Evening Walk — Orientation for Your First Night?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Vienna Evening Walk — Orientation for Your First Night suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Vienna Evening Walk — Orientation for Your First Night?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Vienna Evening Walk — Orientation for Your First Night start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
