Private car transfers
We used Danny Phan Travel for 3 private transfers, Hanoi airport to Ninh Binh, Ninh Binh to Cat Ba, and Cat Ba to Hanoi. This also included ferry transfers and fees. Drivers were on time, cars were clean, and contact between Danny and his staff was always prompt and informative. Pricing for these transfer was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Danny Phan Travel for your private transfer throughout Vietnam.

Efficient and Responsive Travel Organizer
We arranged our airport pickup, drop-off and a day trip to Ninh Binh with Danny. He handled all the arrangements for us. The drivers were competent and knew the routes well. Danny was ALWAYS available - whenever I needed his assistance. It was a rapid response with absolute clarity every single time. We are very glad we were able to connect with him on our Hanoi trip.

Avoid at All Costs
We booked a car through Danny Phan (spelled D-A-N-N-Y P-H-A-N), a service based in Hanoi, Vietnam, for a two-hour drive from Hanoi to Yen Thu. The experience was, without exaggeration, the worst chauffeur service I’ve encountered in this country. Our driver, Mr. Hai, arrived on time at our apartment—that was the only positive part of the journey. From the moment we got into the car, the drive was reckless and nerve-wracking. On the highway out of Hanoi, Mr. Hai was already speeding. I asked him to slow down, but instead of adjusting his behavior, he responded with dismissiveness and an attitude. For the entire two-hour ride into the countryside, he continued speeding, honking nonstop, and driving in a way that felt aggressive and unsafe. At one point, I noticed we were doing 80 km/h in a 30 km/h zone—on bumpy, narrow rural roads. He showed no care for road conditions, pedestrians, children, or animals. He passed cars on blind turns and took dangerous detours, including one where he charged up a backroad hill to cut across a highway—an absolutely terrifying move. He drove the same excessive speed over potholes as he did on straight roads, making the ride physically uncomfortable and mentally exhausting. He was impatient, tailgating cars so closely we were nearly bumper-to-bumper with 18-wheelers, and using his horn not as a safety signal but as an aggressive tool to force his way through traffic. To make things worse, Mr. Hai was audibly irritated the entire time—huffing, puffing, grunting—and made no attempt to offer even the most basic courtesy. This was a special day: my wife’s birthday. I wanted a smooth, relaxing journey to our destination. Instead, the mood was ruined. We arrived stressed and shaken. By the time we got there, I couldn’t even look at him. He didn’t help us with our bags. He didn’t say thank you when we paid. He just grunted and drove off like he couldn’t care less. Final Verdict: If you value your safety, sanity, and any sense of comfort during your travels, avoid Danny Phan’s car service entirely. This isn’t just about a bad driver—it’s about a service that clearly doesn’t screen or train its drivers for professionalism, safety, or basic human decency. There are plenty of reliable, courteous drivers in Vietnam. This was not one of them. Don’t risk turning a good day into a miserable one.
Response from the operator: PLEASE WRITE THE REVIEW BY YOUR HEART After work with my driver and check our safety system in car . We got a few things to explain: @: Our driver arrived on time as scheduled (The customer was 30 minutes late - But we didn't complain at all) @: Check the vehicle's navigation system and journey + front dash cam. He drove at 50-80 km (allowed speed on the highway is 90 km/h). And one very important thing is that all the highways and national highways in Vietnam have cameras to fine people with very heavy penalties - so I am sure that our drivers do not exceed the speed limit. @ : After receiving feedback from customers, we worked with the driver + checked the camera on the car. A safe route and nothing unusual. @ :Our car booking customer is Mrs. Valeryia Kalantayeva (Wife of the Review writer.) . She is our regular customer since 01/2024 - And I am sure of one thing, if anything goes wrong during the trip. She will contact our hotline immediately Via WhatsApp / Phone / Text to avoid any expectations thing during the trip . @: About honking when driving. This is normal and will help drive more safely in traffic in Vietnam (The important thing is how to use it and when to honk) - Customers live and work in Vietnam so I know them very well about this. @: Drivers have this attitude - Working in the field of customer service. we know very well what we need to do when serving our customers. Polite and friendly customers will help drivers feel comfortable on long trips. Best Regards !

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Transfer One Way From HANOI > NINHBINH: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Private Transfer One Way From HANOI > NINHBINH cost?
+
Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Transfer One Way From HANOI > NINHBINH take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Private Transfer One Way From HANOI > NINHBINH worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Transfer One Way From HANOI > NINHBINH?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Transfer One Way From HANOI > NINHBINH suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Transfer One Way From HANOI > NINHBINH?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Transfer One Way From HANOI > NINHBINH start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
