This is a private experience. We'll meet at gate number one, and once inside, we'll start with an introduction to the site to provide a general overview. Then, we'll explore the "Calzada de los Muertos," the main ancient access to the city. Next, we'll enter "La Ciudadela" to visit the pyramid known as the "Templo de la Serpiente Emplumada" (Temple of the Feathered Serpent). After exploring the pyramid, we'll move to the residential areas to observe everyday life, the architectural system, and mural paintings. Throughout the tour, we'll discuss modern theories about the city, archaeological findings from the site, meanings behind offerings, and more. We'll also explore the relationship between the environment and the ruins. During the tour, I'll show you some artifacts from the past, and we'll use virtual reality to visualize changes over time. Wonderful tour of Teotihuacan
We had an amazing tour with Pakalito. We did both this tour and a guided visit to the National Anthropology Museum and highly recommend both, solo or as a pair. The tours were a meaningful compliment to one another and we left with a much richer understanding of the Mesoamerican world. Pakalito is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and engaging as a guide, helping us see and understand many aspects of the pyramids we would have missed on our own. One of the best tour experiences we have ever done - highly recommended!

David nailed our tour of Teotihuacan!
David picked us up at our hotel early in the morning for the one hour drive to Teotihuacan. On the way, he talked about the tour and other topics of interest about Mexico and Mexico City. Once at the sight, he gave us an overview with pictorial aids he had in his backpack. His experience as an archaeologist, in particular his work at this site, was very evident. He knew all the theory yesterday and today's archaeologists have on the human history of these great pyramids. He talked about the inhabitants between 100BC and 650AD and how very little is known. There is much mystery until the Aztecs came and settled in 1400. David was very thorough about the design and the consistent utilization of the Golden Ratio that has been used for centuries in architecture and design. David had great communication skills and kept the tour interesting and fun while still being informative. He spoke very clearly in English and was engaging us with questions and always asking if we were ready to move on, go up steep stairs etc. If you want to visit this site, please go with David for a great overall experience.

Fabulous tour of Teotihuacan with an experienced and knowledgeable guide!
It was great to have a knowledgeable guide like David for our visit to Teotihuacan. We splurged on a private tour with transportation and it was worth every penny. David communicated with us in advance about our pick up location and kept us updated regarding his arrival time. We were able to visit an ancient residential area of the site which many visitors never get to see. He answered our many questions on the way to Teotihuacan, during our tour, and over lunch at La Gruta restaurant. He shared many maps and photos that helped us visualize the history of the site. It really was a special day. This was our second tour with David and we look forward to reaching out to him when our travels once again take us to Mexico.

Hands down best tour guide!!!!
An Unforgettable Experience at the Pyramids of Teotihuacan! Our tour of the pyramids with Pakalito was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we arrived, it was clear how passionate he is about his work, and that energy is contagious. His knowledge of Teotihuacan’s history brought the ancient city to life, making the experience not only educational but truly fascinating. The views from the top of the pyramids? Absolutely breathtaking! We felt like we stepped back in time. If you’re considering a trip to the pyramids, do yourself a favor and book with Pakalito. It was hands down the best part of our visit. Highly recommend!

Why this scores 78
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour with Archaeologist and VR Experience at Teotihuacan: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Private Tour with Archaeologist and VR Experience at Teotihuacan cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour with Archaeologist and VR Experience at Teotihuacan take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Private Tour with Archaeologist and VR Experience at Teotihuacan worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour with Archaeologist and VR Experience at Teotihuacan?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour with Archaeologist and VR Experience at Teotihuacan suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour with Archaeologist and VR Experience at Teotihuacan?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour with Archaeologist and VR Experience at Teotihuacan start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
