What you'll see and do

  1. Obidos Village

This charming medieval village is known for its well-preserved castle, narrow cobblestone streets, and traditional whitewashed houses. Stroll through the village and admire the colorful flowers and unique architecture, and sample the famous local liqueur, "Ginjinha".

  2. Nazare

Nazaré beach, with its mild climate and natural beauty, has one of the most ancient traditions connected to fishing in Portugal. The long sandy half-moon shaped beach, which is also the town’s sea front, is known for its grandeur and for the brightly-coloured awnings that decorate the white sandy beaches, contrasting with the blue of the water. This is the beach in Portugal that retains the more colourful fishing traditions, it’s not uncommon to encounter fishmongers who still wear the traditional seven skirts. Facing the sea on the right, you will see an impressive headland: This is Sítio, which provides one of the most famous views of the Portuguese coast. It is a 318 metre rock face with a sheer drop to the sea. At the top you'll find a Holy Site and place of legends and miracles. These days, Nazaré’s major attractions are the waves and surfing. Take a casual stroll through the narrow streets and have lunch in one of the local restaurants to enjoy a plate of fresh seafood!

  3. Forte de Sao Miguel

The construction of this Mannerist-style monument began during the reign of D. Sebastião, in 1577, with the aim of defending the cove from attacks by Algerian, Moroccan, Dutch and Norman pirates who attacked the Atlantic coast. The Fort survived the French Invasions, where enemy soldiers who fought against the population of Sítio and Pederneira took refuge. The invaders were only expelled from our country in 1811, making this monument a landmark of the popular revolt and the autonomy of the Nazarenes. At the beginning of the 20th century, with no longer a military role, the fishermen made the government feel the need to install a lighthouse and a house for the keeper there, to support fishing activity. With a privileged location next to the Nazaré promontory, it is currently considered the main observation post for the giant waves at Praia do Norte, which have made Nazaré a world surfing reference. The Fort is currently home to the Nazaré Canyon Interpretive Center. Price: 2€

Fantastic Trip

The day started with meeting a cheerful guide named Nuno. He provided a very detailed description of the day itinerary, historical backgrounds of each towns to visit and current events of Portugal. Having a private tour allows flexibility to your day and Nuno arranged the best routing for our tour. We had enough time at each stop and never felt rushed. He also was a safe driver as well. Thank you for a great day Nuno!!

Best day trip from lisboa, great guide

This was the perfect day for us! A nice day trip from Lisbon heading to Fátima as our first stop. We thought that the journey would be a bit tedious because of the distance, but the tour guide Nuno made sure to keep us well entertained along the way, explaining many things from the Lisbon earthquake to the religious apparitions. We had lunch in Nazaré in a restaurant recommend by the guide and it was incredible! The freshest seafood and fish that I've ever tried; the views from the top of the cliff are also a must-see. We ended our day in Óbidos where we spent around 1 hour going around all the local shops that sell many traditional goods and we tried the cherry liquor served with a chocolate cup (we ate the cup!) All in all a great blend of fun, adventure and history, all made possible by the great flexibility of our guide Nuno that made sure to personalize the tour to our needs a little bit. When I get back home I'm going to recommend this tour for sure!

Beautiful and interesting

Nuno is an Excelent guide and he explained very well. We started with Fatima. We ate lunch at Nazare and is very fresh sea food mostly recomended. The last stop was Obidos but we feel we needed a little more time to explore this medieval city but overall everything was ok.

Response from the operator: We appreciate your kind words so much, and we hope that you also appreciated the experience we planned out for you! Come back anytime and let's keep exploring.

How long does Private Tour to Portugal's SilverCoast - Nazaré, Óbidos & Fátima take?

+

Is Private Tour to Portugal's SilverCoast - Nazaré, Óbidos & Fátima suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour to Portugal's SilverCoast - Nazaré, Óbidos & Fátima?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sintra can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sintra and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sintra within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sintra?

+

On Outty we rank every Sintra experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Tour Sintra from Lisbon Palaces of Pena and Regaleira, Private Sintra Tour Palaces and Coast by Vintage Car or Jeep, Sintra Historical Jeep Adventure - Palaces & Secret Routes. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sintra?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sintra?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
