What you'll see and do
Mutianyu Great Wall
You will hike on the Mutianyu Great Wall. This section is ranked top on TripAdvisor among all the Great Wall sections due to its picturesque scenery and beautifully restored architecture. This is the most child-friendly section, with various ways of visiting it. In order to save your time, we will arrange a round-trip cable car to ascend and descend the wall, instead of spending about 40 minutes on steps... twice. We recommend “the most beautiful and interesting part of the Great Wall” — between the 14th and 23rd watchtowers — acknowledged by hikers as "the golden route". Your personal guide will walk with you on the Wall to give you some information and to help you if you want photos with the Wall. You will have some free time to walk around after that. Enjoy your time and take in the spectacular scenery for about 2 hours (2–3 kilometers). Walk at your own pace. It is possible to stay longer on the wall or finish earlier as you wish.

Amy is great, be prepared for workout, large pushy crowds with no personal space
Amy is very kind, nice and sweet. She was accommodating and understanding of our challenges with personal space as Americans. The wall was quite a workout, very hot in late August, the crowds were overwhelming and we were not able to stay long due to the difficulty with narrow passages and no space, rude people. Amy moved fast but very god at showing where we can get best pictures. You need to be in moderate shape, this is not for folks who have low physical fitness, many steep hills, slippery in places, a lot of steps. Amy also kindly stopped for local fruit in the drive back for us, it was a special treat! Bring a personal fan and a lot of water!
Response from the operator: Dear Gina, Thank you for your honest and down-to-earth review! We’re delighted Amy was kind, understanding, and helpful throughout your visit. Mutianyu can certainly be physically demanding, especially in the late-summer heat and crowds, so your advice about bringing plenty of water and a fan is spot-on. We’re glad she helped you find great photo spots and treated you to local fruit on the way back! Best wishes, Trippest Customer Service Team

Visit to the Great Wall in Mutianyu
I went to visit the Great Wall during China's public holidays (which means it was very crowded) and thanks to the guide's recommendations we were able to access the Great Wall without any problems. Bobjack is a great guide, very friendly, attentive and very well-informed about the culture and history of China.
Response from the operator: We are incredibly grateful that you took the time to share your feedback towards the tour guide service to us. Customer satisfaction is our top priority and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your trip with Bobjack.

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall Including Toboggan: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Private Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall Including Toboggan cost?
+
Prices start at $72 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall Including Toboggan take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Private Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall Including Toboggan worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall Including Toboggan?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall Including Toboggan suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall Including Toboggan?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall Including Toboggan start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
