An important history tour
Our guide Carlos was very informative, his English was superb and clear and he was able to discuss the complexity of the terrorist period and the government's response. The museum is well organized but all in Spanish so havinga guide was crucial for us. Taking us to the Cross made of old tv towers allowed for great.photos from a high point on the city. Well worth doing to gain a better sense of the modern history of Peru.

Professional and Informative
We really wanted to visit the Lugar de la Memoria to learn about the recent history in Peru, but it is all in Spanish and they don't have any English literature or guides. We booked a tour with Peru Best Price through TripAdvisor. The English tour options for this museum are very limited and we are so glad that Peru Best Price supports it. The company was very prompt to schedule the tour logistics after we paid through TripAdvisor. We communicated through TripAdvisor secure emails and after giving our address they gave us the time they would arrive the next day. Our guide arrived on time and had perfect English. He had a driver so he could give us general Peru and Lima overviews while we were in transit. He had a tablet so he could show us maps and pictures of the subject matter he was explaining. We had only been in Lima a couple days and we were getting a great overview that we wouldn't have had otherwise. In the museum our guide was very knowledgeable and explained all the exhibits so we didn't miss out from not being able to read the information. He answered all our questions and gave us insights from a local perspective. From there we went to the location in Miraflores where a terrorist bomb exploded and our guide gave us insight into what it felt like for a local at that time. We then went to the highest point in Lima at Chorrillos. We learned about the monuments and got incredible views of Lima that really helped pull together everything we had learned. We also got our touristy photos that we hadn't even planned for. We set out to learn about the recent history in Peru and ended up getting a very informative overview of Lima as well. It was so worth it to book this tour and I recommend this company for their professionalism.

+
On Outty we rank every Lima experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Paracas & Huacachina Day Trip from Lima with Sunset Toast, Paracas and Huacachina Exclusive Sunset Picnic Tour, Paracas & Huacachina Premium Experience from Lima. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lima?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lima?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
