Would NOT recommend
This was our first and last tour with Viator. The overall experience was a HUGE disappointment. I would recommend using a different tour company. My wife and I were booked to go to Ballestas and Nazca by car. We were picked up on time at the right location, but our tour guide was not there. After a 20 minute trip we picked up our guide, Enrique. Our guide began by telling us we would be going to Nazca, but not to Ballestas. We showed him our reservation and he "made some calls". He then confirmed we would be able to do both stops. At Ballestas the guide wanted us to pay for the boat trip tickets which were already included in our prepaid price. We were not given an opportunity to buy lunch and when we asked to get something our request was refused. We continued our trip to Nazca. When we arrived at the Nazca airport around 3:30pm we were told there weren't enough people to fill a plane and we would be required to pay an extra $100 per person if we wanted to fly. They also suggested if we didn't want to pay the extra we could come back tomorrow. After a lot of pressure from our guide and the airline representative to pay the extra $100pp it was agreed (with the intervention of the local trip coordinator) that we would "only" pay an extra $105. The guide and airline wanted us to pay with cash, but we refused and used our credit card. The taxes that were not included with our tour had to be paid with SOL which was not disclosed in the tour info. At the end of the tour our guide who loaned us SOL for taxes, tried to add in the cost of the boat ticket. The total time we spent riding in the car was over 16 hours. We enjoyed seeing the Nazca lines and Ballestas, but the overall trip was ruined by the guide and extra fees. We contacted Viator and let them know what had happened, but they declined to refund any of the $105. I would not recommend using Viator.

Must see
Beautiful places to visit and definitely a must! The rating is for the tour operator rather than the attractions. Pros for lima city tour - 1. Jhonatan tovar our guide was friendly and knowledgeable of the places we visited and went passed. 2. Punctual pick up 3. Car was comfortable 4. Driver was safe Cons 1. Prior to our tour I had questions of the flight. Since the flight operator didn't have a website and it's my first time flying a light aircraft, I asked further questions on the reputation and safety. Someone at the company got really offended by this which I wasn't happy about.

Well organized and amazing tours!
We had a Nazca and Oasis of Huacachina tour with this company and our tour guide is Jhonatan and driver Alejandro. They showed up promptly at 4:30am to pick us up from the hotel and our journey starts! It is a long drive (6 hours from Lima to Nazca one way) and our guide provide good explanation about the culture/agriculture etc when passing different cities. Overall everything is well organized and nothing to worry about. It is a long day but it is an experience you would never forgot! Highly recommended.
Response from the operator: Dear Song, Thanks a lot for writing us a nice review. It was great to meet you when you came to the office and book this full day at the last minute. We are very happy to know that you had enjoyed it. We always try to do the best as you deserve. Thanks. Regards, Lima City Tours

Why this scores 48
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private tour to Ballestas & Nazca: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lima.
How much does Private tour to Ballestas & Nazca cost?
+
Prices start at $370 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lima usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private tour to Ballestas & Nazca take?
+
Plan for about 15 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lima is not rushed.
Is Private tour to Ballestas & Nazca worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lima, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private tour to Ballestas & Nazca?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private tour to Ballestas & Nazca suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 15-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private tour to Ballestas & Nazca?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lima can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lima and add a light layer if any part of the 15-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private tour to Ballestas & Nazca start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lima within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lima?
+
On Outty we rank every Lima experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Paracas & Huacachina Day Trip from Lima with Sunset Toast, Paracas and Huacachina Exclusive Sunset Picnic Tour, Paracas & Huacachina Premium Experience from Lima. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lima?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lima?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
