What a great day seeing the sights of Xi-an, especially with our guide Evan

Our trip to Xi-an was Fantastic! First of all, our guide - Evan - couldn't have been better. He picked us up from the hotel, and took us to the Terracotta Warriors. Wow. Then to a restaurant he liked for Lunch, and ordered local foods for us. Next to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. A quick rest at our hotel, then off to the Tang Dynasty Dinner Show. While that was a little touristy, the Dumplings were great, and the show was pretty. I highly recommend this tour, and especially if you can get Evan as a guide. He was knowledgeable, funny, and a great communicator!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your fantastic review, Stegar! We're thrilled you had such a wonderful day in Xi'an. Evan is truly one of our best guides — knowledgeable, funny, and a great communicator as you described! It sounds like you got the full Xi'an experience from the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors to authentic local cuisine, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and the Tang Dynasty Dinner Show with those delicious dumplings. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for more adventures in China!

    An Excellant Busy Day

Tour: Excellent busy tour the night before our guide Rosemary (Xin Fan) got in touch with us to reconfirm our tour with times and location pick-up which was in the lobby. We set out 8:00am for a drive 1hour from our central located hotel to the sites of the Terra-cotta army. Lovely drive in an air conditioned vehicle and plenty of water to hand. On Route Rosemary got to know us and then told us a brief history of the surrounding landscape and history of Xi'an certainly breaks up the drive. Rosemary was a great guide and got us right up to speed to what we are planning on seeing to if we had any suggestions what we might want to do. Terra-Cotta warriors luckily enough it was a quiet day according to Rosemary and we could see and warriors from the side with not much hustling for a photo ops. Make sure to try and avoid public holidays as I heard the crowds are massive. Excellent knowledge from rosemary on the history and the many questions that we had on the warriors. we had a total 2 hours here but if you wanted longer that was no problem. Gift shop on site for the usual buys magnets books t-shirts but I did get one of the small warriors as they are better quality then outside the site. Drove to the Big Goose pagoda lovely stop plenty of knowledge and history - had the option to climb the pagoda or spend longer here but had plenty of time to cover in 1hour. As this was a private we asked Rosemary if possible to take us to freshen up back at hotel. Rosemary or the driver had no problem and drove us straight for just over an 1hour for ourselves before the night show with dinner which I recommend as it can get very warm and humid on the tour of the warriors and pagoda. Got to the show lovely traditional show and very vibrant in colour. we had excellent table allocation and the dumpling were nice. Glass complementary but option to buy additional drinks. Rosemary Left us off here we said our good byes and the driver returned us to the hotel after the night show. Great tour and the tour guide really did help us to completly have a true understanding of the terracotta warriors and the emperors wishes and beliefs. Rosemary also had a great knowledge of the pagoda and very adpatable allowing us to change up the intenary slightly to suit ourselves

Response from the operator: Thank you for your incredibly detailed and helpful review! We're so glad you had an excellent busy day in Xi'an with Rosemary. She's a fantastic guide who always goes the extra mile — from confirming arrangements the night before to sharing Xi'an's rich history during the drive. It's wonderful that you visited the Terracotta Warriors on a quiet day and got to enjoy the experience without the crowds. Your tips about avoiding public holidays and the detailed description of the tour are incredibly valuable for future travelers. Thank you for choosing our tour, and we hope to welcome you back for more adventures!

Private Tour: Terracotta Warriors& Foodie Tour and Seal Carving: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Xian.

How much does Private Tour: Terracotta Warriors& Foodie Tour and Seal Carving cost?

    +

Prices start at $220 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Xian usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour: Terracotta Warriors& Foodie Tour and Seal Carving take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Xian is not rushed.

Is Private Tour: Terracotta Warriors& Foodie Tour and Seal Carving worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Xian, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: Terracotta Warriors& Foodie Tour and Seal Carving?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour: Terracotta Warriors& Foodie Tour and Seal Carving suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour: Terracotta Warriors& Foodie Tour and Seal Carving?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Xian can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Xian and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour: Terracotta Warriors& Foodie Tour and Seal Carving start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Xian within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Xian?

    +

On Outty we rank every Xian experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Xi'an Day Tour: Terracotta Army&Optional City Attractions, All-Inclusive Terracotta Army Tour with Premium Buffet Lunch, 2-Day Customized Warriors Tours & Xian Top Attractions. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Xian?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Xian?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
