    Excellent day out

An excellent and full day covering the west of the island. Luis has a modern Citroen and speaks excellent English. He has a prepared itinerary but was flexible when I wanted more time at the pools. If you want to swim at the pools you may have to join a slow moving queue in order to get in. A great way to see the island and very good value for €190. The only thing I would add is that it would be useful to have a short written summary of all the places visited.

    Non existent excursion

This guy canceled us 3 days before the excursion with no reason given. Worse, I emailed him twice, with no response from him. Viator customer service was non existent, as they won’t take emails or texts, only allowing customers to contact the excursion person (who refused to respond). BEWARE of this excursion and Viator in general!

Response from the operator: Hello I am very sorry to hear this from you. We didn't received any e-mail from you. The tour was cancelled 3 days before because we had several cases of covid in our company. And for our guests security, and according to the region safety measures we had to cancell all tours we had in the space of 7 days. All the best, Carolina Aguiar

    Amazing day

Booked the tour with Luis over the email when we had arrived on the island. Very easy to arrange and he collected us from our Villa for a tour of the west of the island. 7 of us, including 3 children and we all had a fantastic time. Luis took us to see some amazing views and places and was very knowledgable about an island he clearly loves, and we can understand why. Definitely recommend this company, it was a complete day trip and well worth doing. We intend to come back next year and do the East tour next time! Thank you Luis.

Response from the operator: Dear Mr. Mark and Lovely Family Thank you very much for your review and for being so kind. It was excelent time I spent with you. You have a lovely and nice family and you are very kind. It makes me happy to know you enjoyed the tour with My Guide Madeira :) All the best and we are at your disposal anytime, Luís Gonçalves

    Great tour in west

On top of all the popular sights in the west we were also able to learn so much about the Madeiran coulture. Louis adjusted the trip just for our interests and told the stories behind the waterfalls and closed roads. We also made time for tasting the best poncha in the island. We highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Dear Miss Laura Thank you very much for your review! For me was a pleasure to do the Tour with you and show you the West of Madeira. Thank you very much for being so kind and for me its very rewarding to know that you enjoyed :) All the best, Kind regards, Luís Gonçalves

Private Tour Skywalk and Valley of the Nuns: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Funchal.

How much does Private Tour Skywalk and Valley of the Nuns cost?

    +

Prices start at $148 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Funchal usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour Skywalk and Valley of the Nuns take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Funchal is not rushed.

Is Private Tour Skywalk and Valley of the Nuns worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Funchal, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour Skywalk and Valley of the Nuns?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour Skywalk and Valley of the Nuns suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour Skywalk and Valley of the Nuns?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Funchal can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Funchal and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour Skywalk and Valley of the Nuns start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Funchal within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Funchal?

    +

On Outty we rank every Funchal experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jeep Tour Amazing West to Natural Pools -Full-Day, Porto Moniz, Seixal, Fanal Forest, Cliff Skywalk in Open Roof 4X4, West Tour-Fanal Forest & Porto Moniz Natural Pools Small Groups. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Funchal?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Funchal?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
