Disappointment

This was a big disappointment as the guide arrived late, the driver never spoke to me once and the guide was not a guide but someone that sat in the passenger seat. On arrival at Pachacamac I was left for 15 minutes to wander the museum while the guide turned up. She spoke English but it was difficult to understand her and I had to keep repeating my questions, we did not see the site properly as she informed me she was only employed for a half hour tour. We walked up to the Temple of the Sun and that was it, back to the van and back to the hotel. Neither of the guides spoke on the way back to the hotel. This was a disappointment as it could have been so much better, I will on future visits avoid this company like the plague.

Response from the operator: We understand the discomfort, we sometimes send travel assistants who take them to the archeological site and there you take the visit with an expert local guide. you wanted to do the whole journey on foot and this is not normally possible, since this would take much longer than you hired.

So special to learn about pre Hispanic time.

Very important site to learn about history of the country for those who is interested in the subject. Small but rich and beautiful museum.

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
