Silence is Golden!
As part of our Day Tour to Petra yesterday (see separate Review) my wife and myself spent 2 hours in the Northern Section of a Wadi Rum culminating in watching a very nice sunset. Our Bedouin Driver/Guide Ya Ya (or John to his British friends) was excellent - he came from the nearby Town/Village and knew this Section (and probably most of the rest of Wadi Rum) like the back of his hands. As such, he showed us some fascinating sandstone rock formations but - above all - how quiet it is. Certainly the place to come when one needs to mull over any serious decisions! We also met some Bedouins (together with their camels and dogs) and enjoyed some delicious herb tea - as well as buying a few small items from the nearby gift shop! All in all, a most enjoyable couple of hours which has tempted us to consider spending a night under the stars on our next visit!
