An unforgivable error that prevented us from visiting the Nasrid Palaces.
On April 9, I booked and paid for six tickets for the full tour of the Alhambra, including the Nasrid Palaces and the Generalife, scheduled for August 15 at 12:30 PM. The non-refundable booking had been duly confirmed. During the night between August 14 and 15, an earthquake occurred, and at 10:00 AM, we received a notification indicating the temporary closure of the site for necessary inspections. At 11:30 AM, I personally contacted the agency for updates, and only then was I informed that the Alhambra had reopened. No one from the agency had called or written to inform us. The official notification of the reopening arrived only at 12:30 PM: if I hadn't called, we would have missed the visit entirely. The most serious aspect, however, was discovering at the entrance that the agency had purchased the tickets for the wrong date: they actually showed July 15 instead of August 15. The tickets had been delivered directly to the guide that same day, without being sent to us beforehand, and therefore we had not had any chance to verify the error. Upon checking, naturally, the tickets were not valid. Since the entries to the Nasrid Palaces were already sold out, we were only able to visit the Generalife, missing out on the very main and most anticipated part of the Alhambra. The agency fully acknowledged its error, but decided to refund us exclusively for the portion related to the Nasrid Palaces, withholding the cost of the visit to the Generalife. I found this choice to be truly lacking in class. We had organized two days in Granada specifically to visit the Alhambra and had booked four months in advance. Considering that one does not return to Granada every day and that the poor service was caused exclusively by an error on the part of the agency, it would have been correct to provide compensation; at the very least, a full refund of the ticket would have been a dutiful gesture. The only truly positive aspect was our guide, Emilio: very knowledgeable, professional, and engaging. I recommend him without hesitation, but I suggest booking him through another tour operator.

SCAM IN THE TICKET CHARGING
Good morning: We visited the Alhambra on May 16 with Cristina, and it was truly entertaining. The bad thing is that we paid for the complete visit, and it was not so. Be very careful when purchasing tickets because the confirmation email does not specify the route we would take, which meant we could not complain before being there with a huge line of people waiting to collect the tickets. They also did not inform us about the route we would take when they handed us the tickets. It was only once we were inside that we were told our tickets did not include the complete route (we paid €100 per adult for three of us and €50 per child, and the option for a complete visit was marked). I have written to customer service twice and have not received a response from them. In the chat on the website, they indicate that the price we paid is for the complete visit, but customer service has not said a word. It is truly a shame because we were very excited to do the complete visit, and we were left wanting, but since it was an error on their part, the least I expect is a response and a refund of the difference between one route and another.

Excellent tour
I did the guided tour with Jesus. He is an excellent guide, he takes his profession very seriously, he has been very kind and attentive, he has told us the history of the Alhambra and very interesting stories. The tour has become very enjoyable. I would repeat!
Response from the operator: Hola Abril, ¡muchísimas gracias por tu reseña! 😊 Nos encanta saber que la visita con Jesús fue tan amena y que os llevasteis historia y curiosidades que hacen que la Alhambra se viva de verdad. ¡Ojalá repetir pronto! 👉 www.mytoptour.org Saludos, Tu equipo de My Top Tour

Why this scores 34

Private Tour of the Alhambra of Granada with Official Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Granada.
How much does Private Tour of the Alhambra of Granada with Official Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $173 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Granada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour of the Alhambra of Granada with Official Guide take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Granada is not rushed.
Is Private Tour of the Alhambra of Granada with Official Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 34 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Granada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour of the Alhambra of Granada with Official Guide?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Private Tour of the Alhambra of Granada with Official Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour of the Alhambra of Granada with Official Guide?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Granada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Granada and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour of the Alhambra of Granada with Official Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Granada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Granada?
+
On Outty we rank every Granada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Granada: Sierra Nevada Safari tour up to 2500 meters high, Granada Tapas and Wine Small Group Tour, Granada: Albaicin and Sacromonte Segway Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Granada?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Granada?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
