The medieval town of Óbidos is one of the most picturesque and well preserved in Portugal. You will find a well preserved castle within the walls, and a maze of streets and white houses that are a delight to stroll around. Santa Maria Main Church, the Misericórdia Church, the Church of São Pedro, the Pillory and, beyond the walls, the Aqueduct and the round-shaped Senhor Jesus da Pedra Sanctuary, are just some of the landmarks you could visit.. The local cuisine features bouillabaisse made with fish from the Óbidos Lagoon, which will taste even better if accompanied by the wines of the region of Oeste. The return trip!

We had such a great experience last year with Lain, that we returned again this year! Best way to start our vacation - pick up day one with Lain for a tour. We enjoyed Obidos this time around and drop off in Sintra at the end of the day. Another wonderful experience and highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Hi Lisa, thank you for another great review and so good to connect woth you and Neil again. I really enjoyed showing you around beautiful Obidos and all it has to offer in terms of history, food and drink. I hope you enjoyed Sintra and then the Azores. Take care and until the next time!

Courteous, Knowledgeable, Personalized, Fun Guide Through Portugal.

Iain provided us with more than we expected. Yes, we were provided a timely and courteous driving experience, picking us up at a convenient location and delivering us to our daily destination. However, it was everything in between that was very special. Iain personalized our experience to ensure we would maximize our time with what we would enjoy most. Moreover, he made recommendations we wouldn't have thought of or chosen ourselves, but they were all great. He was a fantastic guide, and I could not recommend spending a day or more with Iain more.

Response from the operator: Hi David, thank you for the great review. You are very kind. It was a real pleasure to tour with you and Kira, I had such fun and you were a great couple. I am glad that my recommendations met with your approval. I hope very much to see you again next time you are out this way. Please give my best to Kira. Take Care. Iain

Visit Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra and more with the best guide.

We went to Óbidos, Foz de Arelho and Buddha Eden Gardens. Iain was the perfect guide for us. Explained all about each place and answered any questions. Really lovely guy and perfect guide. Iain picked us up from our hotel at the time agreed and our adventure began. From start to finish, it was what we wanted and so much more. Had a coffee stop in Óbidos, lunch in Foz de Arelho and Iain allowed us to explore Buddha Eden Gardens together. Has given us some great ideas for future trips and I will definitely return and Iain I hope will be free on our dates to help us explore more of the beauty Portugal has to offer. I highly recommend Iain to any couple looking for a guide. Portugaltours4two.com with Iain will be everything you want. Great selection of tours to choose from.

Response from the operator: Hi Jo, thanks do much for your review. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with you and Bill. You were such fun.. And I am so glad it was everything you wanted and more. Looking forward to the next time already. Take care. Iain

This tour was exactly what we wanted.

Ian was a delightful and patient companion as we toured Obidos, the Silver Coast and Mafra. He allowed us to set the pace, and encouraged us to take coffee breaks, to wander in and out of shops and churches. We had a delightful lunch at a restaurant facing the lagoon and ocean on the silver coast, and he gave us plenty of time to visit the palace and basilica at Mafra. The entire day was splendid!

Response from the operator: Hi Celia, thanks for the review. I had great fun touring with you and Richard and I am glad that it covered everything you wanted to see and at a pace that suited you. That is very important to me. Thank you also for lunch, it was very generous of you. I hope the rest of your time in Portugal goes well and if you have any querstion just ask!! Tale care. Iain

Private Tour in Óbidos, Mafra and The Silver Coast: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Private Tour in Óbidos, Mafra and The Silver Coast cost?

+

Prices start at $250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour in Óbidos, Mafra and The Silver Coast take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Private Tour in Óbidos, Mafra and The Silver Coast worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour in Óbidos, Mafra and The Silver Coast?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour in Óbidos, Mafra and The Silver Coast suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour in Óbidos, Mafra and The Silver Coast?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour in Óbidos, Mafra and The Silver Coast start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

+

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
