About this experience

Colorful roofs that seem to touch the sky at any moment, A warm atmosphere covering the entire village. Gamcheon Culture Village is a unique beauty with neatly arranged terraced villages. It is receiving a warm response from tourists. Just follow the stamp map purchased at the village information center to complete the alleyway tour. First, let's stop by the small Gamcheon Culture Village museum located at the entrance and learn about the village's story before starting the tour. Gamcheon is a place where you can feel the sentiment of Korea and various colorful houses while walking through the alleys like a maze. It is very popular enough to be used for filming dramas. You can enjoy the feeling of looking at a possessed landscape with statues of foxes and the little prince, heavenly scenery, and cartoon-like scenery like the main character in a cartoon. The Hwinyeoul Beach Road allows you to feel the beauty blooming amidst the difficulties of the past.

What you'll see and do

  1. Busan Gamcheon Culture Village

In 1950, when refugees flocked to Busan during the Korean War, the plains of Busan were filled with urban areas, and villages inevitably formed on the hillsides where no one lived. Gamcheon-dong is also a place where refugees built houses on bare ground and formed a small village. Also, followers of Taegeukdo, a new religion of Gangjeungsanpa, settled here. This village was formed after the war when refugees settled from various places. This observatory road with the Little Prince and Desert Fox photo zone is a must-see. It is a must-see tourist course for those who want to see a different landscape like a scene from a cartoon and find their dreams.

  2. Haedong Yonggungsa

The harmony of the sea, dragon, and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva holds deep religious meaning. It is famous as a place where if you pray sincerely, your dreams will come true and one wish will come true. It was destroyed during the Imjin War in the early 1590s and was rebuilt by Ungang Seonsa of Tongdosa in the early 1930s. In 1974, Monk Jeongam (晸菴) took office as the chief priest of this temple and prayed for 100 days to rebuild it as a Avalokitesvara temple. He changed the name of the temple to Haedong Yonggungsa after seeing Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva in white riding a dragon and ascending to heaven in a dream. There is a popular belief that if a person without children prays, they will have a child. Also, Make a wish when you go to every temple!

  3. Jagalchi Market

The largest domestic fish market in Busan, located in Nampo-dong 4-ga, Jung-gu, Busan Metropolitan City. [2] Jagalchi Market sells live raw fish and seafood in aquariums, and there are many street vendors selling fish in baskets just like in traditional markets. The name Jagalchi is not derived from the fish Jagalchi, but from the pebbles on the floor. People who take a boat from Busan International Passenger Terminal to travel to Japan often buy raw fish here to eat during their one-night stay on the boat. They also buy a lot of pig's feet, chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. BIFF Square is right across the street. I thought I would benefit from it, but it was canceled when the main stage of the Busan International Film Festival moved to Haeundae Cinema Center. It is also called Nampo-dong Market, combining it with the nearby Gukje Market, which is named after the neighborhood.

  4. BIFF Square

Busan's modern film street was originally just two movie theaters built half a century ago after Korea was liberated from Japanese colonial rule. Reborn as a cultural tourism attraction that promotes the development of the Korean film industry, BIFF Square has contributed to Busan's status as an international cultural tourism city. The 428m-long street from Nampo-dong Buyeong Theater to Chungmu-dong Overpass is divided into "Star Street" and "Festival Street," and the "BIFF Square Ground Opening Ceremony" is held here every year on the day before the festival. Events include hand printing of famous movie stars and snow flower lighting (snow flower lighting). BIFF Square is a rare place in Asia and even Europe where new theaters are densely packed throughout the city, and for this reason, it has enormous potential.

  5. Gukje Market

Biff Square, Jagalchi Market, and Gukje Market are located in the same location, so you can see the surrounding area at once. It is a famous market that survived difficult times. It is a traditional market located in Daecheong-dong 3-ga, Sinchang-dong 2-ga, Sinchang-dong 3-ga, Sinchang-dong 4-ga, and Changseon-dong 2-ga, Jung-gu, Busan. It is across the street from other large markets in Busan, such as Jagalchi Market, Bupyeong Kkangtong Market, and the recently famous Bosu-dong Book Alley. Since they are all within walking distance, it is a good idea to visit them all at once if you are going to this place.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Busan.

How much does Private Tour Gamcheon CultureVillage & Busan City Tour cost?

How long does Private Tour Gamcheon CultureVillage & Busan City Tour take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Busan is not rushed.

Is Private Tour Gamcheon CultureVillage & Busan City Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Busan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour Gamcheon CultureVillage & Busan City Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour Gamcheon CultureVillage & Busan City Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour Gamcheon CultureVillage & Busan City Tour?

+

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Busan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Busan and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour Gamcheon CultureVillage & Busan City Tour start and how do I get there?

+

What are the best things to do in Busan?

+

On Outty we rank every Busan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Busan Highlights: Small Group, Hotel Pick-up & Sky Capsule, Authentic Busan Full-Day City Highlights Tour, Busan Top Coastal Highlights with Gamcheon Village & Sky Capsule. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Busan?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Busan?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
