Brilliant tour spoilt by lack of explanation & a massively over enthusiastic driver...
This tour comes highly recommended as a way to see the wonders of Luxor from Hurghada. The guide was a real fount of knowledge and we had ample time to see all the items on the itinerary. However we needed to be aware of what the tour included and didn't, so we got to see the items we had paid for, and weren't charged for lunch, while avoiding the extra's they were happy to offer for added cost. It's always going to be a long day, but be aware that this is added to by the security checkpoints of Egypt. You get up early simply to be towards the front of the queue when the checkpoint opens at 6am. No explanation from the driver as he assumed we knew this... What slightly spoilt it was the fact that we were travelling with my girlfriend's mother and the driver was relentless in calling her his 'baby' and making suggestive remarks. This could be easily ignored at first, but sadly carried on throughout the day, despite repeated attempts to get him to stop. In addition, if you have any nervous passengers, this isn't recommended. 'Wacky Races' best describes Egyptian driving, and with 8 hours of this to get you there and back in a day, it isn't for the faint hearted. That said, the roadsides aren't strewn with burnt out wrecks... either that or they're prompt at removing them!
