Best day ever from a 7 year old and his parents
Amazing. Highlight of our trip. Thank you Bong for taking care of us and our son. You not only had an in depth knowledge of the history of MySon and the area but also taking care to slow down when my 7 year old was tired and showing him spiders , and animals, plants too that engaged him so much and kept his interest. The rice paper family was amazing. Taught us slow living at its best and opened our life to rural community living and the hard work everyone puts in . Thank you thank you . We’ll be back .

Great tour with Vu
The tour guide Vu was very good at explaining the tour, the history behind the ruins and was very nice. He also brought us to see an old rice house where we had to experience the local food and noodle making. Extremely happy about this tour and what we have learned from it. Recommended!

Great tour, great guide!
This morning we took the My Son tour, very small tour group of two. It is a beautiful place and definitely worth getting there before the crowd...essential to get the full experience. We had Luong as our guide and her knowledge of My Son (as well as general history) was outstanding! One of the best tour guides...if not the best... that we have had! After the My Son tour we stopped by a local village where we both tried our hand at making rice paper before demolishing them.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a kind review! Will be happy to see you again.

A glimpse into the past of a once mighty culture
We (party of two) took part in the My Son Discovery (starting in Hoi An) Tour. The early morning timing is important, as we were then ahead of the crowds, which might otherwise have diminished our good experience. Our Local UrbanAdventures Guide Nam Pham managed it really well, that we were mostly alone in the various sections of the site. This certainly added to our experience. His explanations and his background knowledge of the site was helpful for us to grasp at least a bit of the Champa culture. We also enjoyed that he was relaxed enough to go to a local Mí Gà Restaurant on the way back, as we had missed out breakfast (due to the early start) and were hungry. Thumbs up!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for trusting us and using our services in Vietnam. We are really happy to know that you are satisfied with our assistance and arrangement for your trip. Nam will be really delighted hearing your great compliments for him. We look forward to serve you in your trip to our region with all enthusiasms and professional services.

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour from Hoi An: Explore Holy Ruins of My Son: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hoi An.
How much does Private Tour from Hoi An: Explore Holy Ruins of My Son cost?
+
Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hoi An usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour from Hoi An: Explore Holy Ruins of My Son take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hoi An is not rushed.
Is Private Tour from Hoi An: Explore Holy Ruins of My Son worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hoi An, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour from Hoi An: Explore Holy Ruins of My Son?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour from Hoi An: Explore Holy Ruins of My Son suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour from Hoi An: Explore Holy Ruins of My Son?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hoi An can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hoi An and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour from Hoi An: Explore Holy Ruins of My Son start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hoi An within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hoi An?
+
On Outty we rank every Hoi An experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include HOI AN Hidden Gems in Rural Villages & River Islands PRIVATE TOUR, Coconut Jungle Eco & Hoi An City Tour With Boat Ride, Cooking Class Hoi An:Local Market, Basket Boat, Fishing & Cooking. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hoi An?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hoi An?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
