Very bad experience with this...

Very bad experience with this trip... they pick us at the hotel in shanghai with a private car, without any identification, after we landed in beijing we wait it the airport more than 1 hour until our guide person pick us with our name written in chinese... then we go to the great wall, this was the only good part of the trip, the hotel in beijing is very disgusting, dirty and broken curtains, dirty carpet, bathrooms with sewage smell, pipelines above the floor, very disgusting hotel, even the location of this hotel was not good to walk around it... next day we went to forbidden city after that to the airport... we do not recommend this trip to anyone... very bad experience...

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience, Celso. We sincerely apologize for the numerous issues you encountered during your trip. The lack of proper identification at pickup, the long wait at Beijing airport, and especially the unacceptable hotel conditions are all issues we take very seriously. We're glad the Great Wall visit was a positive part of the trip, but we understand that doesn't make up for the other shortcomings. We have since upgraded our hotel partners and improved our airport pickup coordination to ensure proper signage and timely service. We deeply regret your experience and have used your feedback to make meaningful changes to prevent this from happening again.

Awesome!!!! I travel a lot, This was the first time i had ever done a private one on one tour. I was thrilled with how everything was perfectly arranged. My tour guide Cris, was excellent. Her knowledge of the Chinese history made the tour fascinating and fun. We did things I would have never done on my own. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Beijing.
.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your awesome review, Eugene! Coming from a frequent traveler, that's a wonderful compliment. We're thrilled that your first private one-on-one tour experience was so perfectly arranged. Cris is truly an exceptional guide — her passion for Chinese history and ability to make it fascinating and fun is what sets her apart. We love that she helped you discover things you'd never have found on your own — that's exactly what a private tour should offer! Thank you for the high recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Beijing!

After taking a cruise that ended in...

After taking a cruise that ended in Shanghai, I wanted to visit Beijing since I was so close the city. The tour/tour company was exceptional. We were in communication with the company for a week in advance via email and they addressed all of my concerns. We were picked up at our hotel for our early flight and the driver made sure we had our boarding passes and ready to start the tour. We had the BEST tour guide, Cristina Guo Shi Qing, who was careful in meeting the needs of two elderly tourists. She allowed us to make some minor changes and was understanding if we need extra breaks. She was extremely knowledgeable about the sites and provide us with lots of historical and cultural information. I would definitely suggest this tour if you have a limited time in the city. My only regret is we did not have more time.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review, Kathryn! We're so glad that adding a Beijing visit to your Shanghai cruise was such a rewarding experience. We always strive to address all concerns before the trip and ensure smooth logistics. Cristina truly is one of our best guides — her patience, flexibility, and deep knowledge of Beijing's history and culture make her perfect for guests of all ages and needs. We're happy she made your visit comfortable and informative. Your only regret being not having more time is the best compliment we could receive! We hope to welcome you back for a longer Beijing adventure someday.

We're so glad you loved Robert as your guide — his knowledge, warmth, and conversational style make him a favorite among our guests. Private Tour: 2-Day Beijing from Shanghai with Round-trip Flight: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Shanghai.

How much does Private Tour: 2-Day Beijing from Shanghai with Round-trip Flight cost?

+

Prices start at $760 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Shanghai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour: 2-Day Beijing from Shanghai with Round-trip Flight take?

+

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Shanghai is not rushed.

Is Private Tour: 2-Day Beijing from Shanghai with Round-trip Flight worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Shanghai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: 2-Day Beijing from Shanghai with Round-trip Flight?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour: 2-Day Beijing from Shanghai with Round-trip Flight suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour: 2-Day Beijing from Shanghai with Round-trip Flight?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Shanghai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Shanghai and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour: 2-Day Beijing from Shanghai with Round-trip Flight start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Shanghai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Shanghai?

+

On Outty we rank every Shanghai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Shanghai Full Day City Tour with Old and New Highlights, Suzhou Private Day Trip from Shanghai with Bullet Train Option, 4-Hour Flexible Private Shanghai City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Shanghai?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Shanghai?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
