Knowledgeable guide, but thrown together tour (if felt like)
The tour company wasn't very responsibe to inquiries. The pick up location was up in the air and I sent several messages via the Viator app and got barely any responses. Closer to the tour date I had the same issue with them taking days to respond, or giving vague answers. Basso was the guide assigned to us. He was very knowledgeable, but spent a lot of time on his phone, even while driving us around very winding mountain roads. He also didn't seem to have a plan at the start of the day and asked us what we wanted to see. It was our first time in Tenerife, so we really had no idea. He did take us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch, and showed us beautiful views from very high vantage points, but not certain we truly saw everything the island had to offer.

Regarding the itinerary, this is a private and personalised tour, not a fixed coach excursion where every guest follows exactly the same programme. There is, of course, a general route and a selection of places that I consider particularly worthwhile based on many years of experience. However, when I meet my guests, I always ask whether there is something in particular they would like to see, experience or prioritise. For me, this is one of the main advantages of booking a private tour: the itinerary can be adapted during the day according to the guests’ interests, weather conditions, traffic and the time available. As a professional guide with extensive knowledge of Tenerife, I deliberately maintain this flexibility rather than forcing every client to follow an identical itinerary. If you had no particular preference because it was your first visit, my role was precisely to use my experience to select what I considered the best possible route for you. Regarding whether you saw “everything Tenerife has to offer”, it is important to be realistic: Tenerife is an extraordinarily diverse island and cannot be fully discovered in a single day. Even several days would be necessary to explore its landscapes, historic towns, villages, national park, coastline, gastronomy and culture in depth. A one-day private tour is designed to offer a carefully selected and representative experience, not to claim that the entire island can be seen in a few hours. Regarding communication before the excursion, we work through several booking platforms and some operational details, including final pick-up arrangements, may be confirmed closer to the day of the tour. Nevertheless, I appreciate your feedback and we have continued improving the way we communicate with guests before their excursions. Finally, I take any comment concerning road safety seriously. Any operational communication required during a tour must always be handled in accordance with road-safety regulations and without compromising the safety of our guests. I respect that every traveller may have different expectations of a private tour, but I also feel it is important to explain that flexibility and personalisation are not a lack of planning — they are precisely what distinguish a private experience from a standard organised excursion. Beautiful island and flexible tour
Excellent guide who was able to answer our endless questions. Plenty of time at the stops. And an early (9am) start meant we missed the crowds and traffic jams in August. Absolutely beautiful island.

Highly recommended! 10+
Basso was THE BEST tour guide we have ever had. He came to pick us up at our hotel and took us to various cities / villages around Tenerife. He drove safely (not easy task for the many twist and turns of the south coast) and was knowledgeable about the island’s history, its vegetation and the different micro climates. He gave us time to explore on our own at each stop and was very patient with the kids (10, 8 and 6 years old with lots of energy). We also stopped to eat at a guachinche (authentic Canarian food) and a typical bakery - both very good! We will never forget this experience and we highly recommend this tour to family with children that want to take their time exploring and making memories.

Outstanding tour of Tenerife!
We had an amazing full-day private tour of Tenerife with Basso at Get Holiday. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and generous with his time, going above and beyond to ensure that we saw everything we hoped for. We learned so much about Tenerife and the history/culture of the Canary Islands, and we saw some stunning scenery that we would never have been able to manage on our own. He also took us to an authentic restaurant off the beaten path for lunch that was built inside someone's home and the food was absolutely delicious. We felt very safe with Basso driving us on many winding roads at high elevations and were thankful that we had a pro at the wheel. This tour was worth every penny and I highly recommend for anyone who wants to see the full beauty of this island with an awesome tour guide.
