Wonderful Safari Experience in TZ!
A friend and I worked with Safari by Leo to book an 8-day tour to Tanzania. A bulk of our time was spent visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti but we also did local tours with Charles. Leo and Charles were great to work with and helped customize our itinerary – they were very communicative, responsive and easy to get a hold of. During the safari, Leo was responsible and we felt at ease with her. Her driving was wonderful and she worked hard in helping us spot the animals we wanted to view on our game drives. The accommodations she chose for us were lovely and comfortable. Overall, we had an excellent experience with Safari by Leo and would happily work with them again.

Exceptional safari with a wonderful guide
We had an absolutely wonderful 10-day safari with Leo! From the very beginning, everything was incredibly well organized. Communication with Leo and Charles was excellent, and before the safari Leo took the time to sit down with us, explain the whole itinerary, and answer all of our questions. During the trip, we always knew what was planned for the day, where we were going, and what to expect. At the same time, there was enough flexibility to adjust things whenever possible. Leo herself made the safari so special. She is an incredibly warm, kind, relaxed, and genuinely lovely person to spend time with. Since it was just the two of us and Leo, we spent many hours together over those ten days, and the atmosphere was always easy, personal, and very comfortable. She listened to our wishes, tried to accommodate them whenever possible, and when something was not possible, she always explained why. As a safari guide, Leo is outstanding. Her knowledge, experience, and ability to spot animals are incredible. More than once she saw animals hidden somewhere in the bush that we would never have noticed ourselves – including lions that were almost completely invisible to us. She also had a great instinct for where animals might be and when it was worth waiting or looking in a certain area. At the same time, she never made promises she could not keep. Wildlife is unpredictable, and she was always honest about that. In the end, we saw every animal we had hoped to see. One of the absolute highlights was watching a wildebeest river crossing. Seeing it happen live was breathtaking, especially knowing how unpredictable these crossings can be. Thanks to Leo’s experience, we were in a fantastic position to watch the whole thing unfold. What we also appreciated enormously was the respect Leo showed for nature itself. It was always clear that we were guests in their habitat. She never tried to get unnecessarily close just for a better view and was very attentive to whether the animals were comfortable with our presence. At the same time, she knew when animals were completely relaxed around the vehicle – at one point we were standing among zebras only a few meters from the jeep, and they simply carried on as if we were not there. Leo also shared a huge amount of knowledge with us about the animals, the ecosystems, the national parks, conservation, and the history of wildlife protection and poaching in Tanzania. We learned so much along the way. During our safari we visited the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire, and everything was organized for us. We spent two nights in luxury tents inside the national parks, and whenever we stayed outside the parks, we had comfortable hotels waiting for us. Food, drinks, payments, transfers – everything was taken care of. Even airport pickup and drop-off were organized, so we really did not have to worry about anything. We also really enjoyed the more personal conversations with Leo. She told us about her experience becoming one of the first female safari guides and about the challenges she faced entering and establishing herself in a field where women are still very much the exception. Another thing that meant a lot to us was seeing how socially engaged Leo and Charles are. They support education locally, and we had the opportunity to visit a school connected to this work. Meeting the students and seeing the project in person was a wonderful experience, and we really appreciated knowing that part of the income from the safaris helps support education in the area. We had some beautiful cultural experiences along the way, including a visit to a Maasai village, where we learned more about their culture, traditions, and relationship with nature. And after the safari itself was over, Leo and Charles even took us to a local restaurant before our flight and chose a selection of typical dishes for us so that we could try a little bit of everything. One of our favorite moments came on our final evening in the national parks. Leo had prepared a small surprise for us – some sparkling non-alcoholic apple drink (tasted amazing!) to toast together while watching an absolutely beautiful sunset. It was such a simple but incredibly thoughtful and heartfelt gesture, and it perfectly summed up the whole experience. We can wholeheartedly recommend booking a safari with them. Perfectly organized Tanzania experience
Thanks to Leo and Charles we had an Impeccable unforgettable, perfectly organized Holiday ! Although Tanzania is known for its rich wildlife, the cultural “activities” (coffee tour at Materuni, visit local market in Moshi, being welcome me in a Maasai Village, …) made it really complete and beyond expectations. We visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti Central & North and Lake Natron. Leo is a fantastic knowledgeable experienced guide thanks to whom we have seen ALL the animals there are to be seen + the big migration at Mara River. Our trip wss fully tailor-made to what we wanted. Wonderful communication in the car. Just perfect !!!!

Absolutely the Very Best Safari of a Life-time!
My Brother and I spent two weeks with Leo Safaris, in Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire game parks, and additionally visited the Olduvai Gorge Museum, a coffee plantation in Arusha, handicraft shopping and were treated to a wonderful farewell lunch. Leo Safari provided quality accommodations, and thoughtful service to suit our specific needs (as we are older travellers). Our Tour Guide, Leo, was always ready to go, is very knowledgeable of the terrain and the wildlife, gave us the benefit of her breadth and depth of knowledge, and is dedicated to this. As this was a tour just for my brother and I, we were not part of a larger group, and were catered to specifically. A once-in-a-lifetime dream come true. Asanteni Charles na Leo.

Highlight after Highlight
First we drove 1:45h to the Arusha National Park. The Drive was so quick because Charles and Leo told us everything about Tansania we asked for during the drive. They have a lot of knowledge so it never gets boring. As we arrived at the National Park we saw Giraffs, Elephants, Zebras, different kinda of monkeys, zumbas, dikdiks, Antilopes, Buffelos, and different kinds of Birds. It was a crazy cool experience to see all of that animals from so close of a distance! They say it's not guaranteed to see all of that but we had a good day I guess ;) We stopped everytime we wanted to and they even drove backwards if we thought we saw something 🤣 The Driver Leo was very skilled and was going quick from location to locatiok but stopping everytime there was something cool to see. They also had Lunch for us which was pretty good 🤙 It was an amazing day and everytime we thought the tour is over or this and that was the highlight they came with something even better. It was a very cool day and I think we need to support more small buisnisses like that. They even write books for childs which they gifted us :)
