What a treat!
Peter Bailey gave us a real treat when he showed us his home: Sydney! He picked us up in a comfortable car, on time and heard about what we wanted to see in Sydney. Then he brought us on a tour that we thoroughly enjoyed. Peter brought us to a variety of venues that gave us great views of the city, and an opportunity to experience what is special about Sydney, including neighborhoods with their unique architecture & personality, Bondi Beach and a subtropical harbor park. This added up to a more personal experience with very few crowds. He shared interesting geography & history that helped us understand Sydney today. Best of all we weren’t in the car the whole time, we had fun opportunities to walk about the sites Peter brought us to. Some of our favorite highlights were Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair (views), stopping to meet and feed a flock of Cockatoos, the Bondi Beach walk, the Harbor Bridge walk and our suggested route back to the city on the Manly Ferry (a true Sydney experience). Peter’s commentary was strong and enthusiastic. He encouraged and answered our questions. Lastly, we really appreciated Peter’s suggestions for exploration on our own. It was clear to us that Peter cares about and appreciates the city he lives in: Sydney.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review, Sandra. I'm delighted you guys enjoyed our day together, and that you enjoyed Sydney also

A Wonderful Day
We enjoyed a wonderful Sydney Key Attractions tour with Peter Bailey on March 30, 2026. He picked us up at our hotel at the agreed upon time, discussed some itinerary choices with us and then provided a wonderful tour! We very much enjoyed visiting Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair as it provides one of the iconic views of the opera house and harbour bridge. It was interesting and fun to see the architecture and activities in the various suburbs that he drove us through. It was nice to stretch the legs and enjoy the beautiful day on the Bondi coastal walk, the harbour bridge walk and part of the Spit to Manly walk. Each walk provided a unique view and feel of the area. We purchased lunch (steak meat pie’s - yum!) from the Grumpy Baker and ate them at a nearby park with an awesome view of the city. We opted to take the Manly Ferry back to Sydney for our return, so our tour ended at Manly Warf. The ferry ride was nice and it provided great views of Sydney on its approach to the city. It was indeed a wonderful day! Peter’s knowledge of Sydney was top notch. He provided good commentary during our tour and answered our many questions along the way. If we get back to Sydney, we’d definitely book another tour with Peter. One of the questions we asked was where to see animals unique to Australia? His advice was to visit Featherdale Wildlife Park. We visited Featherdale the next morning and thoroughly enjoyed seeing and feeding (where permitted) the animals. I’d recommend the Koala Experience!
Response from the operator: I'm glad I was able to provide info not just about our day together, but also about your coming days in Sydney. Thank you for the review, and I look forward to seeing you guys again

Excellent company and Value for Money for those with little time
My husband and I went on two tours with Peter - sydney city and the southern coast. Peter is a wonderful guide; understood our interests, customised the trip accordingly and gave honest recommendations about what was worth our time and money while in Sydney. His love for Sydney is obvious and we enjoyed our conversations with him. If we ever do visit Sydney again, we fully intend to do the Blue Mountains with him!
Response from the operator: I am so sorry the weather wasn't suitable for the Blue Mountains, but I look forward to showing them off to you, at a future time. Many thanks for your review!

Bailey's Sydney Tour
Peter Bailey is a superb guide! He met us on time, helped us make choices on our priorities. He absolutely KNOWS Sydney and environs! He has a lot of interesting stories of the area as he is a lifelong resident. The private tour is the only way to go, and Peter makes it easy and fun!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. I'm glad my suggestions were useful, and the stories were interesting. But most of all, I'm glad you had fun. So did I!!

An excellent tour!!
Peter is a wonderful guide and a pleasure to spend the day with. He knows the ins and outs of Sydney and knows how to avoid the crowds and takes you to places others don’t get to see. If you want to really explore Sydney and don’t have a lot of time Peter is the guide for you!

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Sydney City Tour: The Key Attractions: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.
How much does Private Sydney City Tour: The Key Attractions cost?
+
Prices start at $861 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Sydney City Tour: The Key Attractions take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.
Is Private Sydney City Tour: The Key Attractions worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Sydney City Tour: The Key Attractions?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Private Sydney City Tour: The Key Attractions suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Sydney City Tour: The Key Attractions?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Sydney City Tour: The Key Attractions start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sydney?
+
On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sydney?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sydney?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
