An unforgettable sunset experience in Sydney.
We had a lovely evening with Derrick on a beautiful autumn night. He was very kind, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we stepped aboard. His knowledge of the harbour and easygoing nature added so much to the experience. The boat ride itself was absolutely stunning. Watching the sun set over Sydney Harbour and seeing the city lights gradually come to life was unforgettable. The atmosphere was peaceful and intimate, and everything felt well-organised and thoughtfully planned. Derrick went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable time, sharing interesting insights and making sure we were always looked after. It truly felt like a special, personalised experience rather than just a standard tour. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the evening and would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a relaxing and beautiful way to enjoy Sydney. Thank you, Derrick, for such a wonderful night!

Sunset on Sydney Harbor
This is the only way to see the breadth of the world's largest natural harbor. Stephen took us into the small bays and inlets to see the beauty, the boats and the wonderful homes climbing the hillsides. It was a perfect 2 hours spent on the water.

The tour was beautiful...
The tour was beautiful and we really covered a lot of ground. Unfortunately our pickup spot changed the day of the tour and since I was out of the country didn't have access to Wifi and wasn't informed of the change in location to meet the boat until we had already arrived and didn't see the boat. We were then told it was a "3 minute walk" to the new pickup location, which turned into an almost 20-30 minute walk because I had older folks with me who really had a hard time walking that distance due to hip, knee and lung problems. It would have been nice to get a call or text message to update us on the change. That said, once we finally made it there it was a lovely evening, beautiful views, and the snacks/drinks were a nice touch.

Fantastic experience
The cruise was amazing. Jason our skipper was so nice and friendly making our trip all that more special. Our friends from London loved it and have not stopped talking about it

Family Cruise
This was an amazing experience for our family of five. The captain was extremely friendly, personable and safe and the boat was comfortable. A highlight of our visit to Sydney and worth the price.
Response from the operator: Hi Allen, Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear your family had such a memorable experience on the water. It’s wonderful to know the cruise was a highlight of your time in Sydney — that means a lot to us. We hope to welcome you back again on your next visit! Sincerely, Sydney Luxury Cruise

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Sunset Cruise on Sydney Harbour for up to Six Guests: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.
How much does Private Sunset Cruise on Sydney Harbour for up to Six Guests cost?
+
Prices start at $692 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Sunset Cruise on Sydney Harbour for up to Six Guests take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.
Is Private Sunset Cruise on Sydney Harbour for up to Six Guests worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Sunset Cruise on Sydney Harbour for up to Six Guests?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Sunset Cruise on Sydney Harbour for up to Six Guests suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Sunset Cruise on Sydney Harbour for up to Six Guests?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Sunset Cruise on Sydney Harbour for up to Six Guests start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sydney?
+
On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sydney?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sydney?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
