Unique and Enjoyable
Fawn's West County Experience was thoroughly enjoyable on many levels. Being in the company of good friends and making new ones was most satisfying. Starting with Wild Flour bakery with their amazing scones and olive bread - followed by a stop for cheese tastings where we were treated to a variety of textures and flavors. Then came a walk through a small grove of old redwood trees - a rare place for one to appreciate the grandeur of these Redwood giants. And finally a restful time at a Sonoma Coast beach where we enjoyed various wines and snacks provided by our host. But most important, a time to chat and get to know each other. High praises to Fawn for a very special day.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Steven! I'm delighted that you enjoyed not only the hidden gems of West Sonoma County—from Wildflour Bakery and our family creamery to the majestic redwoods and the Sonoma Coast—but also the opportunity to relax, connect, and make new friends along the way. Creating a day where people can slow down, savor the beauty of Sonoma County, and share meaningful conversation is exactly what I hope every guest experiences. Thank you for your kind words, and I hope to welcome you back again someday!

Only a local can show you the real Sonoma county
Friends from out of town were visiting so we called Fawn to see if she was available. I have lived here all my life, and I have never seen the places Fawn took us. They weren't your typical tourist stops. If you want to see the real Sonoma County, go with a local, and Fawn is the best. And we all got cookies and scones while Fawn was picking up our olive bread, and then it was off to cheese tasting. The Gorgonzola was to die for. The redwoods she took us to was so sacred and quiet as we walked through these beautiful trees. I loved going through the back country to get to the beach. Fawn is an effortless hostess as she passed out the food and had her very knowledgeable friend. Educate us on the history of wine, making in Sonoma county and her expertise during the tasting. What a terrific day. I would do it again.
Response from the operator: Valerie, thank you so much! One of my favorite things to hear is when longtime Sonoma County residents discover places they never knew existed. That is exactly why I created Hidden Gems. It meant so much to share the day with old friends. Thank you for your encouragement and wonderful review!

So many great memories!
This was an amazing trip! It's my first time in this part of California and Fawn made it a great experience! I loved the walk through the Redwood's, so beautiful. The cheese factory was very cool and tasty. Be sure to take a stroll through the gardens at the bread shop. And the wine tasting and picnic on the beach was the perfect way to end the day. I will have so many awesome memories, thank you Fawn!
Response from the operator: Kris, thank you for this wonderful review! It made me smile to hear that your first visit to this part of California created so many great memories. I'm especially happy you enjoyed the majestic redwoods, our family creamery cheese tasting, the peaceful gardens at Wildflour, and ending the day with wine and a picnic by the ocean. It was a pleasure sharing Sonoma County with you!

A must for west Sonoma County
It was a gorgeous day out and a fantastic experience with Fawn leading it. From the magic garden at the Wildflour bakery, to the delicious cheese tasting, venturing into the majestic redwoods and ending with a high note at the wine tasting by the sea. It all felt like a walk in the park as Fawn leads the entire tour so gracefully. We highly recommend it! And we’d do it again.
Response from the operator: Gian, thank you for your kind words—and thank you again for sharing your incredible photography talent with all of us. It was wonderful having you and Joh along for another Hidden Gems adventure. I'm so glad you enjoyed everything from the gardens at Wildflour to the creamery and the redwoods. I truly appreciate your encouragement and friendship.

Wine country gem
We had a wonderful time visiting a variety of wine country gems! The cheese tasting was amazing, as was the wine tasting and picnic in the beach. Highly recommend!!!
Response from the operator: Drummadude, thank you so much! It was such a joy sharing West Sonoma County with you and your wife. I'm so glad the cheese tasting, beach picnic, and sunset wine experience stood out. Those are some of my favorite moments too. I hope the memories of our beautiful coastline and redwoods stay with you for years to come. You're both welcome back anytime!

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Sonoma Hidden Gems Redwoods Coast and Artisan Picnic: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Rosa.
How much does Private Sonoma Hidden Gems Redwoods Coast and Artisan Picnic cost?
+
Prices start at $1097 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santa Rosa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Sonoma Hidden Gems Redwoods Coast and Artisan Picnic take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santa Rosa is not rushed.
Is Private Sonoma Hidden Gems Redwoods Coast and Artisan Picnic worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santa Rosa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Sonoma Hidden Gems Redwoods Coast and Artisan Picnic?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Sonoma Hidden Gems Redwoods Coast and Artisan Picnic suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Sonoma Hidden Gems Redwoods Coast and Artisan Picnic?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Rosa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Rosa and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Sonoma Hidden Gems Redwoods Coast and Artisan Picnic start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Rosa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santa Rosa?
+
Santa Rosa is the practical base for Sonoma County: winery tours through Russian River and Dry Creek, hot air balloon flights over the valley, and redwood trips to Armstrong Grove. On Outty we rank every Santa Rosa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Russian River Kayak Tour at the Beautiful Sonoma Coast, Best E-Bike Rental! Wine country fun, Sonoma County Join-In Group Wine Tasting Tours. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santa Rosa?
+
April to June and September to October, with harvest in September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santa Rosa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
