What you'll see and do
Your crew, the captain, and the guide, will be waiting for you at the dive center. Upon arrival, you will receive the snorkel gear, which has been previously cleaned and disinfected. Your guide will provide a briefing and fish identification charts to use during the excursion. The boat will take you to the snorkel area beyond Mahahual town. She is a 21-foot long boat, totally safe and suitable for a max of 6 pax. The excursion consists of 2 stops in two different areas, one more visited due to its high probability of swimming with sea turtles, and a second where there will be no other snorkelers. Between both areas, the boat will take you to the beach if you want to relax and enjoy the snacks and drinks that the staff brings in the refrigerator. Your guide will carry a safe hoop that can be used by anyone who needs to rest. In addition to taking care of the group and pointing out animal life, the guide will take pics that will become memories of a great experience!

Snorkeling in Mahauhal MX
We took an excursion from Viator to Mar Adentro Dive Shop (Mahuahal) to do some snorkeling while our RCCL ship was in Port at Costa Maya MX. We had to take a cab from the port but it was only $5 each way p/p. The excursion was only $32 and they provided everything we needed for almost 2 hours of snorkeling. The guides (Bianca, Farid & Neto) were so encouraging and helpful the whole time. We saw lots of fish and some corals; the fish were more colorful than the coral though. When we would get tired, the guides would let us hang on to the life preserver ring, so we could just float and look at fish without struggle. They explained everything very well. The only thing better would have been calmer water but with their help we still managed! We were kept informed ahead of the excursion by Jose' via email and what's app. We really enjoyed the excursion & got back to the ship in plenty of time.

Great Experience
Neto and Nano were our tour guides. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure we were comfortable, answered any questions we had and made sure to show us all of the sea life around us. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is the water was very rough that day. So, it made it difficult to snorkel. However, they provided a life saver to hold onto and helped us out.

Super snorkeling
We made the snorkeling tour with Neto and Nano. Everything was perfect: Neto took the time to give us the explanations before swimming mainly for the purpose of preserving the seabed. He guided us by snorkeling with us which allows to benefit from his wise eye to see the reefs and fish and thanks to him we met 2 turtles. A very pleasant time I recommend. Be careful sunscreen is forbidden to preserve corals so you must plan the t-shirt anti uv

So glad we did this
I'm terrible with names but our guide for my family's snorkeling tour was amazing. We have a special needs child who swims very well but can be unpredictable when out on the water. Our guide recognized the situation immediately and was quick to relieve me and my wife. She took her aside and personally guided her for the rest of the tour. The boat ride back was also a blast as she and my daughter bonded. I can't recommend enough. Thanks so much!

Snorkeling around the coral reef with my teenage daughter
Great experience! We were afraid of the impact of the polar storm and the cold snap on the quality of the excursion. Finally the water was 27 and we could see many species around the coral reef including an eagle skate and a turtle when it is not the season! Our guide was really nice, he guided us with a lot of kindness and a lot of explanations.
