Highest Recommendations!!
Wow! What a great time we had!!! Lei (Lisa) is FANTASTIC!! You contact her and she usually contacts you back within minutes! I contacted her at 5:00 AM her time, and by 5:04 AM she had responded! She met us at the cruise port promptly, took us on a whirlwind tour of Shanghai (had a relaxing tea service, visited the Watertown, saw the Bond…. Did everything offered by the cruise ship in one excursion, compared to the Ships 4 or 5 excursions offered separately at separate prices). She is excellent with everything. Knows her stuff, goes well way and beyond, friendly, personable, easily understood, gives the extra mile at every turn and accommodating to your every whim! I cannot offer her any other high praise, because she is truly a professional that you wish you could encounter everywhere. Truly a warm, wonderful person - enjoyed her guiding skills and truly just enjoyed her company. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS!!!!

Relaxing and fabulous day in Water town
Water town Zhujiajiao Tour with Lisa was fabulous! Lisa has organized everything including lot of relaxation. After waking around the Water town on a very hot day we had an amazing tea time on a relaxing terrace with the great view of the channel and a relaxing Chinese cuisine lunch. Lisa sheared interesting information about China history and culture. Transportation was well organized too. Overall the entire tour was an amazing experience. We highly recommend Lisa if you want really to maximize and enjoy your time in Shanghai without rush and stress.

Lisa is an elite tour guide. If you are going to Shanghai, you must secure her as your guide.
I have been all over the world and had many guides during these travels. Lisa is an elite guide. We contracted with her for a 4-day tour of Shanghai highlights, water villages (Zhujiajiao and Xitang), great food and nightlife. She also linked us to Beijing to visit the Great Wall. Lisa was simply fantastic. She is very knowledgeable, funny, charming, and insightful, and she tailored our tour to our specific interests in creative ways. She took us to private gardens, buddhist temples and on boat rides, dazzled us with the history and culture of each area, and slipped us into back-alleys and unique food experiences (dumplings, noodles, snails and smoking bananas). She arranged complete transportation around the Shanghai area and to and from both airports. She is multilingual, including excellent English, and she and my son, who knows some Mandarin, had fun conversing with shop and restaurant owners, and dealing with mothers and grandmothers in the People's Park, who tried to hook up my son with their daughters and granddaughters (this was exactly as funny as it sounds). If you are going to Shanghai, or the surrounding area, you have to have Lisa as your guide. You will have the best experience possible.
Response from the operator: Dear Bill and Alex , Thank you so much for your kind review and we are very much appreciated it! I hope you had great time with us in Shanghai ! Like you said it was a great fun communicated with the local mothers in the matchmaking -marriage market in People's Park in Shanghai and the 2 ladies were very enthusiastic introduced their daughters to Alex and they phoned me after we done the tour on the day. The other nice thing happened to us it was dinning in the Seven Tables Restaurant in Xitang Water Village and the owner of the restaurant was veey nice to serve us good food like the smoking bananas , snails and sweet soup .( no charge off course ) The last fun thing it was our driver taught Alex how to speak Shanghai dialect and it was great fun and we all laughed , it obviously to say that Alex good for learning languages . Thanks again and hope you come to visit China again in the future! Best regards, Lisa Zhang

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Shanghai City and Zhujiajiao Combo Tour with Boating, Tea Tasting, Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Shanghai.
How much does Private Shanghai City and Zhujiajiao Combo Tour with Boating, Tea Tasting, Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $108 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Shanghai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Shanghai City and Zhujiajiao Combo Tour with Boating, Tea Tasting, Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Shanghai is not rushed.
Is Private Shanghai City and Zhujiajiao Combo Tour with Boating, Tea Tasting, Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Shanghai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Shanghai City and Zhujiajiao Combo Tour with Boating, Tea Tasting, Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Shanghai City and Zhujiajiao Combo Tour with Boating, Tea Tasting, Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Shanghai City and Zhujiajiao Combo Tour with Boating, Tea Tasting, Lunch?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Shanghai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Shanghai and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Shanghai City and Zhujiajiao Combo Tour with Boating, Tea Tasting, Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Shanghai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Shanghai?
+
On Outty we rank every Shanghai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Shanghai Full Day City Tour with Old and New Highlights, Suzhou Private Day Trip from Shanghai with Bullet Train Option, 4-Hour Flexible Private Shanghai City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Shanghai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Shanghai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
