Three Unforgettable Days Exploring the Real Costa Rica with Manuel
I cannot recommend Manuel’s Costa Rica One on One Tours highly enough. If you are looking for a truly private, personalized, and unforgettable way to experience Costa Rica, Manuel is absolutely the person you want guiding you. We had the privilege of spending three incredible days with Manuel, and they ended up being some of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip. From beginning to end, everything was completely private, personal, and tailored to us. Nothing ever felt like a generic or prepackaged tourist experience. Over our three days together, we explored Costa Rica’s incredible rainforests and saw an amazing variety of wildlife, including sloths, poison dart frogs, and countless other animals we never would have spotted on our own. We also did an unforgettable private crocodile spotting experience. Manuel’s knowledge of the wildlife, rainforest, and local environment was exceptional, and his ability to find and point out animals was remarkable. But what truly made these three days so special was Manuel himself. He is the consummate professional—knowledgeable, personable, patient, accommodating, and genuinely passionate about sharing his country with others. By the end of our time together, it honestly felt less like we were traveling with a tour guide and more like we were exploring Costa Rica with a friend who wanted us to experience everything that makes his country so special. The experience went far beyond wildlife. We enjoyed incredible authentic local lunches, experienced Costa Rican coffee and chocolate, and were introduced to parts of the culture and country that we simply would not have experienced on our own. Some of those smaller, authentic moments ended up being just as memorable as seeing the wildlife. For three days of completely private, one-on-one experiences of this caliber, we also felt the value was exceptional. Nothing ever felt rushed, commercialized, or impersonal. Manuel gave us his full attention and went above and beyond throughout our entire time together. I have traveled extensively around the world and have experienced many private tours, and Manuel genuinely stands among the very best guides I have ever encountered. His professionalism, knowledge, warmth, and genuine kindness made our time in Costa Rica something we will never forget. If you are visiting Costa Rica and want to experience the country beyond the typical tourist itinerary, book with Manuel. I would recommend Manuel’s Costa Rica One on One Tours without hesitation. Spending three days with him was one of the highlights of our entire Costa Rica trip, and I would book with him again in a heartbeat. Five stars simply does not feel like enough.

AMAZING ADVENTURE WITH MANUEL
It was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE with Manuel!!! He shared the culture and more than our tour like eating empanadas at his favorite restaurant..delicious btw 😋, photos in town, getting coconut 🥥 water from a bike vendor, traditional Costa Rican lunch 🥙….everything was top notch!!!! It was the extra little things that made it more special 💗! Just when thought the bar was raised at its highest point it was tipped over because we did karaoke 🎤 on the way back to the resort with the mic 🎤, lights and 🪩 disco ball!! He is definitely my guy when I come back here and you’ll say the same thing too!!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this — it made us smile so big! That's exactly the kind of day we love creating — not just a tour, but a real taste of Costa Rica. The empanadas, the coconut water from the bike vendor, the traditional lunch and all those little moments in between are what make each experience truly special. And of course Manuel had to end the day with karaoke, lights and the disco ball — he wouldn't have it any other way! Thank you for letting us share our beautiful country with you — can't wait to have you back!

Highlight of the Trip!
This tour was great! We had Pablo as our guide and made the trip even better! Unfortunately I was not feeling great on the actual day of the tour and felt really bad, but Pablo stopped at a pharmacy and helped translate with the pharmacist what would be best to make me feel better- so that was incredibly sweet and helpful (also made having the one on one tour so much better since no one else had to wait on me). Our first stop was the waterfall which was gorgeous and refreshing- a little crowded but that is to be expected, the next stop was the coffee and cacao tour which was super fun to learn all about the beans and how the Costa Rican coffee and chocolate is produced. Next up was the hanging bridges which was way cooler than I expected- a lot of fun noises and sights to see there in the rainforest! We then had a typical Costa Rican lunch which was delicious before heading to see the sloths! Not guaranteed to see them, but we ended up seeing 4 in their natural habitat which was really amazing- didn’t expect them to be so high up in the trees but after learning more about them, it makes so much more sense- they’re truly unique and amazing creatures! We even saw a toucan and the green tree frogs sleeping on leaves! Definitely recommend the one on one tours when visiting Costa Rica- you won’t regret it!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for trusting Costa Rica One on One! So happy you got to enjoy the rainforest despite not feeling your best — that's exactly the beauty of a private tour, Pablo could take care of you every step of the way. Sloths, frogs and a toucan make everything better! Hope to see you back in Costa Rica soon!

Amazing tour!!
We spent a week in Costa Rica and this was one of the highlights of our trip! Gabriel was an amazing guide and was so patient with our family with 3 kids in tow. He picked us up at our hotel and planned the entire day. We started at an amazing waterfall and then headed to a coffee/chocolate tour that was outstanding. It was followed by a guided tour through the rainforest to see sloths, birds, reptiles, and amazing plants. We had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant with a butterfly garden attached! We wrapped up with a tour through another rainforest with hanging bridges and the views were just breathtaking. It was so well planned and we felt like we got to experience the highlights of Costa Rica. Highly recommend this tour- it's not to be missed!
Response from the operator: Reading this truly made us smile. We're so happy to hear that your Rainforest Experience was one of the highlights of your week in Costa Rica! Gabriel will be so happy to read your kind words, he truly loves sharing the beauty of this country with families and it shows in everything he does. From the waterfall to the coffee & chocolate tour, the sloths, the butterfly garden and those breathtaking hanging bridges, we love that every stop felt special for you and your little ones. That's exactly the kind of day we love creating! Thank you for trusting Costa Rica One on One to be part of your family vacation. Hope to welcome you all back for another adventure soon!

Excellent and knowledgeable guide who was so nice and friendly
This whole experience was awesome! Although the description says 6 to 7 hours our guide, Pablo made absolutely sure that we experienced every single thing to the fullest- saw every plant and animal that we could! would not give up on the day until we saw sloths and was with us for a 12 hour day! So knowledgeable about all the plants! The coffee, cocoa, rainforest walks, lunch!!! It was all EXCELLENT. Pablo was the best guide!!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share this! Pablo will be so happy to read your kind words — that's just who he is! He wasn't going to let the day end without making sure you saw those sloths! That passion for sharing Costa Rica's nature, wildlife and culture is what makes him such a special guide. From the coffee and cacao tour to the rainforest walks, the plants and that delicious lunch — we're so happy every moment felt worth it. Thank you for trusting Costa Rica One on One — hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!

Private Rainforest Tour: Sloths, Hanging Bridges & Coffee: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa Hermosa.
How much does Private Rainforest Tour: Sloths, Hanging Bridges & Coffee cost?
+
Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa Hermosa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Rainforest Tour: Sloths, Hanging Bridges & Coffee take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa Hermosa is not rushed.
Is Private Rainforest Tour: Sloths, Hanging Bridges & Coffee worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa Hermosa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Rainforest Tour: Sloths, Hanging Bridges & Coffee?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Rainforest Tour: Sloths, Hanging Bridges & Coffee suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Rainforest Tour: Sloths, Hanging Bridges & Coffee?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa Hermosa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa Hermosa and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Rainforest Tour: Sloths, Hanging Bridges & Coffee start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa Hermosa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa Hermosa?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa Hermosa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sloth Wildlife Experience, Coffee, Chocolate & Waterfall, Guachipelin Adventure Volcano Zipline River Tubing Combo, Adventure in Volcano Combo Tour! - Zip Line, Waterfall, Hot Springs and More. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa Hermosa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa Hermosa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
