Travel with Claudio: Nova Scotia Adventure!
Our private tour with Claudio Benigno turned out to be a truly wonderful day. The man is a font of knowledge....funny and engaging and shared his true love of Nova Scotia with us. Our teenage grandson, who is a lobster lover, was delighted with our little stop to see the "lobster whisperer " and learn a lot of interesting details about lobster. We saw so much, both historically and of the beautiful scenery. Was so disappointed with Peggy's Cove...so overrun by tourists. The beauty of that fabulous location is spoiled by all of the hustle and bustle. It was a delightful day and we are so happy you matched Claudio with us!
Response from the operator: Thank you for such a thoughtful review! Claudio will be very happy to hear this. We love that your grandson especially enjoyed the lobster stop — those unexpected little moments often become the best memories of the day. Peggy’s Cove can certainly get very busy during cruise season, so we’re glad Claudio was able to show you so much more of Nova Scotia’s history, scenery and character along the way. Thank you for spending the day with us!

Peggy’s Cove trip
Our driver was excellent and catered to our needs even on a rainy day. We had a wonderful experience and enjoyed hearing the historical stories and details of the areas we visited.
Response from the operator: Thank you, Lisa! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour despite the rainy weather. It was a pleasure sharing Nova Scotia's history with you. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back again!

Book it!
Maaz was awesome! He was so kind to tailor the experience a bit for us as we wanted a little extra time at the citadel instead of the cemetery for my son. He was able to provide information around Peggy's Cove as well as Halifax and had a car seat ready to go for my 3 year old as requested. He was attentive and just fantastic!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re thrilled to hear you had a great experience with Maaz. He’ll be delighted to know his flexibility, knowledge, and attention to detail made your tour so enjoyable. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Nova Scotia soon!

Small van tour of Peggy’s Cove
I have taken many Viator tours. Most in a big group with a guide. We have a group of 28 people. Instead of 2 bus, they gave us 5 vans. I feel like this is more like a taxi with the driver giving some commentary of the area. The communication with owner of this tour was excellent and he was easy to work with. I’m sure the quality of the tour varies in each car. My driver was very brief in his commentaries. Our time at Peggy’s Cove was rushed (50 minutes). I recommend taking a bigger group tour rather than small van from Viator..
Response from the operator: Dear Judy, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words regarding our communication and coordination — it means a lot to us. We would like to respectfully clarify one important point for future readers: We do not operate large coaches or buses, and this was clearly communicated prior to the booking. Based on your group size of 28 guests, the arrangement of multiple comfortable passenger vans was discussed and confirmed in advance, as this is the standard and safest way we accommodate larger private groups. Our tours are intentionally designed as small-group, personalized experiences, rather than mass-market coach tours. This allows for flexibility, easier access to sites like Peggy’s Cove (where large buses often face parking and movement restrictions), and more individual attention from our local driver-guides. Regarding the time at Peggy’s Cove, the scheduled stop of approximately 50 minutes follows local traffic regulations, safety considerations, and the overall tour timeline agreed upon with the group leader. That said, we sincerely regret that you felt rushed and we take this feedback seriously as we continuously refine our tour pacing. As for the commentary, we work with several professional driver-guides, and while all are knowledgeable locals, presentation styles naturally vary. We will be sharing your feedback with our team to ensure more consistent engagement across all vehicles. We genuinely appreciate your honest review and are grateful you chose to explore Nova Scotia with us. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.

Displeased
Viator should not put 4 people in a sedan coupe. Three in the back seat was extremely uncomfortable, even more so with the fast driving habit of our tour guide. It was a pretty drive to the Lighthouse, but didn't enjoy it because of being uncomfortable. Visiting the cemetery where the Holocaust deceased are buried was the most interesting part of the tour. I will give our guide credit for his knowledge on the subject. But he was late, arrived 10 minutes after the tour was to begin and we were advised to be there 10 minutes early and we were. In addition, he did not walk up to the terminal like other tour guides did. We had to walk out to parking lot to locate him. After we did, he did not introduce himself. I introduced myself and my 3 traveling partners. In the car he mainly conversed to our male passenger in the front seat. Us 3 women in the back seat was just along for the ride!
Response from the operator: Dear Sharon, Thank you for sharing your feedback. Your tour was conducted by Claudio, one of our most experienced and friendly driver-guides, who usually receives excellent reviews for his knowledge and professionalism. We’re truly shocked and sorry to learn that you were disappointed with the experience. The vehicle used was a Lexus sedan, comfortable for up to 4 passengers, but we understand that seating can feel a bit tight when three adults are seated in the back. We sincerely apologize if this affected your comfort during the drive to Peggy’s Cove. We also regret the delay at the pickup point and any lack of introduction or communication that fell short of our standards. We appreciate your acknowledgment of Claudio’s historical insights, and we’ll ensure your comments are shared with him to improve the guest experience further. Your feedback is very valuable to us, and we truly hope you will consider touring with us again so we can provide you with the level of service we’re known for.

Private Peggy's Cove Lighthouse Tour from Halifax: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Halifax.
How much does Private Peggy's Cove Lighthouse Tour from Halifax cost?
+
Prices start at $363 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Halifax usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Peggy's Cove Lighthouse Tour from Halifax take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Halifax is not rushed.
Is Private Peggy's Cove Lighthouse Tour from Halifax worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Halifax, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Peggy's Cove Lighthouse Tour from Halifax?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Peggy's Cove Lighthouse Tour from Halifax suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Peggy's Cove Lighthouse Tour from Halifax?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Halifax can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Halifax and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Peggy's Cove Lighthouse Tour from Halifax start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Halifax within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Halifax?
+
On Outty we rank every Halifax experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wine and Lunch Escape, Small Group Tour - Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, the Annapolis Valley, Half-Day Historical Tour of Halifax. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Halifax?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Halifax?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
