Amazing day

The description is misleading. It is not a 35 minute hike. It looks easy, but you are at 16,000 feet above sea level and frankly in cold weather with 30% less oxygen then most of us are used to, it is challenging. Plus, you have to go all the way to the top to get the alpacas to walk back down with you. Walking up is the equivalent of climbing 38 floors. I am in good shape and work out daily, but had to stop twice to catch my breath. Up and back it’s 3 miles. Total time was about two hours. The views are spectacular and the alpacas make you smile. Our driver Jan was terrific. Once off the highway it is a dirt road in poor condition. He managed it beautifully. Our guide, Haydee, was thoughtful, informative, polite, and very helpful. We enjoyed our time with both Jan and Haydee.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for your honest feedback. We truly appreciate your comments regarding the hike difficulty and altitude conditions, and we will certainly review the tour description to make it clearer for future travelers. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the spectacular views and your time with Haydee and Jhon. Your kind words mean a lot to our team, and we will be sure to share them with both of them. Thank you again for traveling with us. We hope to welcome you back to Peru in the future 😊

Views, views, views!

Excellent trip from beginning to end! The mountains were beautiful, and our guide, Jessica was knowledgeable and patient. We experienced snow on our journey, but Jessica guided us to best spots for views and pictures. Our driver, Eloy was equally accommodating. It was nice to have the private tour to spend time as we liked, and the breakfast and lunch were lovely. Go, you will not be disappointed!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your trust, we are very happy to be part of your experience!!

Super day in Palcoyo

This tour was wonderful to be in contact with nature, the Palcoyo mountain is totally different, there are not many travelers which allows you to have a quiet visit and you can enjoy the landscape more. The service was excellent from hotel pickup, guide, and food service. I loved taking a walk with the llamas, my children enjoyed it a lot. Friends, I recommend the Peru adventure tour travel agency, apart from the fact that they are local companies.

Response from the operator: Muchas Gracias por sus confiaza, muy contentos ser parte de su experiencia!!

Exceptional visit to the Sacred Valley

Haydee wonderfully organized a private guided tour of the Sacred Valley for us. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. Our taxi was great and followed us throughout the day waiting for us when visiting the sites. Haydee is great and gives very good explanations. We couldn't have hoped for better for this visit. Thanks again for everything 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Response from the operator: Danae thank you so much to you and Pablo, for us was wonderful to share unforgettable moment.

Wonderful experience in Cusco

Magnificent experience which not only allowed us to visit the incredible Machupicchu but also the Palcoyo mountains which were simply magnificent. The guide is very kind and the work is done carefully so that we feel comfortable and amazed at the same time. In the morning she even offered to take us to visit the surrounding area without pay and it was really very nice! The guide was very accommodating with schedules and availability! Just before our visit to Machupicchu there were strikes blocking the trains and she organized everything so that we could still go there, which was really reassuring for us and took a weight off our shoulders, allowing us to enjoy other visits. If you go through Cusco we highly recommend this guide!

Response from the operator: Santiago thank you so much to you and Chloe, for us was wonderful to share unforgettable moment.

Private Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain & Alpaca Walk Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Private Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain & Alpaca Walk Experience cost?

+

Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain & Alpaca Walk Experience take?

+

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Private Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain & Alpaca Walk Experience worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain & Alpaca Walk Experience?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain & Alpaca Walk Experience suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain & Alpaca Walk Experience?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain & Alpaca Walk Experience start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
