    Incredible experience!!

Mason was awesome and had my teen year old daughter up and surfing for the first time in minutes. I ended up getting a lesson with him as well and he had me surfing in minutes, we even had a great conversation and he showed me how to watch the waves. I learned a lot in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend them to any one of any skill level or age!!

Response from the operator: Aloha Ryan! Mason is such an amazing and knowledgeable instructor, and a genuine person overall. We are happy to hear you and your daughter had such a positive experience with him in the water. We will be sure to send him your compliments. We hope to have you and the family back in the near future. Mahalo!

    Beautiful Experience

I had a private surf lesson with Mike. At 62 surfing was on my bucket list and Mike was the perfect person to get me there. Kind, patient, thorough are just a few words to describe Mike. I would highly recommend a private lesson so you can enjoy some conversation with this outstanding person.

Response from the operator: Aloha! We are so happy to hear you had an unforgettable surfing experience with Mike. Thank you for your kind words, and you hit the nail on the head describing his persona. We will be sure to share your review with him. We hope to have you back soon to paddle into some more waves. Mahalo for taking the time to give us the 5 star rating, and write a review. We appreciate it! 🤙

    Fabulous first surf lesson!

I hope this message is to, or gets forwarded to the supervisor for both Dane and Tyler. I had a surfing lesson today with Dane. I got there early and hung around with Tyler for a while to get some pointers and the lay of the land. He was very personable and sweet, and a good representative for you guys. Then I met Dane, and we began our land lesson, where he was clear, helpful and covered the needed subject until I was comfortable with the instructions. Let me say, I ama 69 year old woman, who was pretty nervous about the whole thing, but in reasonable shape, and a frequent swimmer. So, up for the adventure, but also a little scared! Dane was absolutely wonderful, reassuring and he literally towed me out to the waves after my neck kind of gave out with the paddling. I can't express how kind and supportive he was and I felt encouraged to keep trying to get up (difficult given a sore and constrained hip). He was always looking out for my safety and my limits. And after each faceplant, I was still laughing and enjoying every minute of it. I did get up for a few seconds and really, loved it so much, if we were not leaving tomorrow, I would book another lesson. Just wanted to let you know that you have two lovely employees and I hope they both grow and prosper with your company. Solid guys. Thanks so much for this very cool experience! Please give them my regards.

Response from the operator: Mahalo for taking the time to write us a great review. We are so happy to know that Dane and Tyler made your surfing experience beyond amazing! Cheers to you for going through with it despite your doubts! Surfing isnʻt quite like riding a bike, and definitely is a challenge. We are so happy you decided to accept the challenge, and had the coolest experience! Dane and Tyler are wonderful! We will definitely pass your kind words on to them and the WBS management team. Aloha 🤙

    Old dog, new tricks!

Had a fantastic private lesson with Matt little over a week ago. I had last surfed 45+ years ago so needless to say I was a bit rusty, but Matt was quick to get me back to riding waves again. Best of all, he delivers his surfing wisdom with a big dose of patience and good humor! I also bought the videos and pictures so I can relive that unforgettable hour.

Response from the operator: Mahalo for taking time to write a generous 5-star review. We are happy to hear that Matt took a good care of you. We will be sure to share it with him. Thank you, also, for mentioning of the photo/video option. It is not every day that you can get pics of yourself surfing, so it is definitely good to take advantage of the service. Mahalo again, and we look forward to having you again in the near future.

Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.

How much does Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson cost?

    +

Prices start at $158 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.

Is Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oahu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oahu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oahu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
