What you get

    About this experience

Guided by those who know it best., weaving history, science, and tradition. Dolphins that have danced in these waters for generations, humpback whales navigating ancient migrations, seabirds carried by winds that once guided Polynesian wayfinders. Beneath the surface, the connection between human and ocean deepens. A honu (green sea turtle) drifts past, ancient and unhurried, a silent guardian of these reefs, where guests participate in Citizen Science, ensuring that every journey leaves a positive imprint, aligning discovery with stewardship. On the 34-foot power catamaran, the experience is as refined as it is immersive. Under the shade of the awning, the journey is unhurried, the moments unfiltered—whether capturing an Insta-worthy photograph as dolphins ride the bow or simply breathing in the salty breeze, this woman owned company delivers Hawai‘i as it was meant to be experienced. A place where luxury is defined not by opulence, but by the richness of the world it reveals.

    Amazing experience

Amazing experience in our private charter, swimming with dolphins and around the corals. They were so generous and we were given extra time to give us another chance to encounter the dolphins. Worth every penny!

We had an absolutely amazing experience. Our guides, Alex, Mikki and Matt, were very knowledgeable on Marine animals. Not only did we spot dolphins in the wild and eagle ray and were able to swim with them, but I enjoyed them sharing their knowledge about animal behaviour and learning about it. It was important to not just being able to see them in the wild but also learning how to respect them. A magical excursion.

Excellent nature trip for sea life, dolphins, birding

We joined the 6 hour trip with Wild Side and it was amazing!!! The communication and preparations before the trip was top notch, and the trip itself was unbeatable. We started at 6am and the morning was a tranquil visit to all the animals in the ocean. Our guides were Connor and Bethany, and they are knowledgeable naturalists and wonderful guides who took good care of us inside and outside of the water. Captain Kim knew we were birders and wanted to take photos of the shearwaters, boobys, and albatrosses and she always positioned the boat while giving us the best and most stable view for photography, while maintaining a respectful distance to the animals to avoid stressing them. We went out to Ka’ena point and had a great view of the Laysan albatross colony. There is truly nothing like having an albatross fly overhead. Along the way, we saw spotted dolphins actively feeding and playing, and also saw spinner dolphins! Seeing the monk seal lounging on the beach was a bonus. The wedge tail shearwaters had just returned so they were busy on the water. We also found masked boobys and brown booby feeding. We also saw turtles at their cleaning station! Connor and Bethany were knowledgeable about the landscape and the ecology and shared wonderful information. They are genuinely the nicest people! Highly recommended. The boat is comfortable and we were taking care of by the team (beverages, snacks, fruits, pastries). Thank you!

Response from the operator: Thanks for noticing the why behind what we do—this reads like a field journal in the best way. A calm early run up toward Kaʻena with birds active, dolphins feeding, and that Laysan albatross colony in full presence… those are the kinds of mornings that remind us how special this coastline really is. And yes—there’s nothing quite like an albatross overhead. It gets us every time too. Kim will love this—she takes a lot of pride in setting people up for those steady, respectful viewing angles, especially when she knows she’s got birders onboard. And Conner and Bethany are exactly as you experienced: deeply knowledgeable, tuned in, and genuinely good humans to spend time with on the water. From shearwaters returning to the wedge-tailed chaos, to honu at the cleaning stations and a surprise monk seal—sounds like the ecosystem really showed up for you. We’re glad you felt well taken care of both in and out of the water—that balance matters to us just as much as the sightings. Mahalo for taking the time to share this—and for bringing your curiosity out with you. Warmest Aloha, Tori Wild Side Specialty Tours

More than snorkeling - a truly immersive experience!

From initial contact to request a private charter, to communication after the trip about photos, we had nothing but amazing communication and experience with every person we met at Wild Side. Tori was very helpful, responsive and friendly in our conversations to set up the excursion and helped him answer my questions due to the recent storms. The day of the excursion our guides were Bethany and Mickie and our captain was Kim. Bethany and Mickie had so much knowledge to share about the dolphins and whales and other wildlife in the area, and made sure to point out anything they so we wouldn’t miss anything. Even though the conditions weren’t perfect, we were able to get in the water. My daughter and niece had dolphin swim right past them close to the surface while I saw a small family about 10 feet below me. It was such a special experience! On board the crew did their utmost to make sure we were as comfortable as possible and had plenty of snacks and drinks and comfort items for anyone feeling seasick. Cannot recommend them enough for an experience that is more than a snorkeling excursion. It was immersive and educational as well, and I definitely looked forward to joining them for another excursion sometime!

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share this—your experience captures exactly what we hope each day on the water can feel like. Stormy weeks can make things a bit unpredictable, so I’m glad we were able to navigate the conditions together and still get you into the water for those dolphin moments. Encounters like the ones you described—quiet, close, and on their terms—are the ones that tend to stay with you. Bethany and Mickie have a way of making sure nothing goes unnoticed, and Kim brings a steady hand when the ocean isn’t at its easiest. I’ll be sure to pass this along to them. We put a lot of care into creating something that goes beyond just getting in the water, so it means a lot to hear that it felt immersive and educational. We’d love to have you back out with us anytime. Warmest Aloha, Tori

    GREAT COMPANY - GREAT TOUR!

WONDERFUL! We did a LOT on our family vacation, and this experience was ranked by all of us as one of the best experiences of our whole trip (and we visited 3 islands)! We traveled with two teenage boys who love the water (ages 17 and 18, so a total of 4 people). Captain Tori and Bethany were fantastic. We traveled about 4-5 miles out I believe and saw many things both going out and coming into port. Birds, bottle-nosed dolphins, spinner dolphins and turtles. Flying fish, too! The dolphins just never get old and are so amazing! This company not only cares about your experience, but they care about the animals and their environment as well. We booked a private tour, and it was well worth it. We were asked what things were most important to us - what were we most interested in seeing and we were given options about snorkeling (how long, did we want to do it again, etc.) We had moments where we just enjoyed the ride and chilled out together, and moments where we were happily hurried into the water to catch glimpses of the wild animals that surrounded us. Bethany did an AWESOME job of getting us into the water quickly and of taking photos (which were not included but are SO worth getting). Both Tori and Bethany were knowledgeable and personable. While nobody can guarantee what you see, we had a blast! We had a 6-hour tour and we felt it was the perfect amount of time. The little breakfast they served was nice - plenty of water and drinks and a nice lunch. They had everything we needed. I highly recommend this company and any tour you can book with them. GREAT MEMORIES!

Response from the operator: Mahalo nui loa for this wonderful review – we’re over here smiling like bottle-nose dolphins in a feeding frenzy 🐬🌊 It was such a pleasure having your adventurous crew aboard – those teenage water lovers made fantastic shipmates! From flying fish to the dolphins (that never get old – agreed!), we’re thrilled you got the full “Wild Side sampler platter” of ocean magic. And big props to Bethany for the fast fins and quick pics – she moves like a dolphin and clicks like a pro! We love that you felt both energized and relaxed—exactly the balance we aim for. A little chill, a little thrill, and always tailored to your vibe. Thank you for recognizing the care we put into both the experience and the environment. It means the ocean to us. Here’s to more island-hopping, saltwater-soaked memories, and hopefully a reunion out at sea someday soon!

Private Sea’fari Expedition • 8 Guests Included (Expandable): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.

How much does Private Sea’fari Expedition • 8 Guests Included (Expandable) cost?

    +

Prices start at $1900 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Sea’fari Expedition • 8 Guests Included (Expandable) take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.

Is Private Sea’fari Expedition • 8 Guests Included (Expandable) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 57 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Sea’fari Expedition • 8 Guests Included (Expandable)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Sea’fari Expedition • 8 Guests Included (Expandable) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Sea’fari Expedition • 8 Guests Included (Expandable)?

    +

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Sea’fari Expedition • 8 Guests Included (Expandable) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oahu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oahu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oahu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
